Copper Version 5 is underway, we have features in mind. Do you?

So, we're pretty much committed to the following:
- A more social Copper (relates to merging of People/Contact/Resource assets)
- An API
- Tighter integration with Accounting Apps
- An iPhone To Do App
- Better management of resource availability & bookings

However, I want you to think through your daily usage of Copper, what is it that you spend a lot of time on? Next, dream up a solution and post it here (or just post the problem and we'll do the dreaming!).

1. I would love to skip our issue tracker. We have been using Arctic but now we are using Sifterapp. I know you can create task and handle them as issues but that is not good enough. For that to work you would need a quick way of changing statuses; open, resolved, reopened, closed. Add these statuses to tasks or create a separate but integrated issue tracker.

I would love a very simple addition that probably wouldn't even need a new version. To be able to add the resource when setting up the task. Currently you have to save it, then go back in and add the resource.

This will definitely be part of our People module when we come to that point. It has been a LONG time coming but will vastly improve the resourcing part of Copper.

Some interesting choices for the new release: I miss seeing a total of my logged hours under my avatar lug in the top right. Since I do want to see the total for my day, I've tried generating a report of my work for the day. Apparently, I've done nothing. Very disheartening since I've been at my desk for 10 hours!

I / we would love to have the accounting related sections more friendly. I'd like to be able to edit invoices when I mess up, or delete them altogether if I need to start fresh.

The levels of attribution (task, resources, associated dates) is still very cumbersome and very tedious to update when things change.

I'd like to have an option to include projects that have been archived in the reports section, without having to go in and edit the report's status.

The ability to collapse and expand Tasks in the Project breakdown page would be very helpful. On complicated projects the tree gets a bit too long

Currently when setting up a project, we have to assign individually. It would be nice to have an option to assign all tasks in a project to a single person from the outset.

Or at least have an overview of which tasks have someone assigned and which don't. We used to be able to see that in the Timeline view but that seems to have changed.

Some ideas for copper 5.x

User Interface/Dashboard

- Highlighting the priority of tasks and projetcs e.g. "high" in red and "low" in green
- Storage of the user sorting of the dashboard !!! e.g. in the first rows all tasks with priority "high", then "normal" and "low" or the alphabetical sorting of projects or clients. Now the sorting will always restored to the default
- Change of the sorting by clicking of the column name (the triangles are very small)

Reports
- More information in the reports (work analysis): include all task commentaries with users, notices and hours
- Printable forms !!! (without user interface) with selectable columns (user, date, clients, projetcs, tasks, commentaries, hours, costs etc.) and adjustable sorting and selectabel categories (users, clients, projects ...)

Email notifications:
- Include the number of hours logged
- Include the %% progress
- When task gets edited, email should say "Task has been Edited" not "Task has been Created"
- Ability to reply via email

Tasks:
- It would be great to have a notification if actual logged hours are close to the target hours.
- If the dependencies have been set up and a task needs changing the end date, there should be a question whether all the dependant tasks should have the end date updated

Calendar/Availability
- If a user is added to the event, his availability should be reduced (or at least an option to do so should be provided)
- Link an event to a specific client/project
- ability to use the calendar (events and tasks assigned) feed in major email services (MS, gmail, zimbra)

Create tasks for a project or milestone via email!!!

This could be for bug tracking implementation. QC area/tasks
or just quick simple tasks that are simple. and take only 1minute +/-
So an email can be fwd: somewhere so that it becomes a task on someones todo list

Email notification to every user added when someone creates an event in calendar, e.g. a meeting in calendar.

Allow for all resources assigned to all tasks for a project, come up int he Contact, drop down, under more when adding commentary, so that notifications can be sent from there, to help notify others, that a task has been completed.

Be able to assign a team or multiple resources to a task and then only show it on the to do list if that resources accepts that task.

Be able to collapse and expand tasks and its subtasks for easy management/Viewing. Be Able to copy a parent task and have all the subtasks copied along with it!

If a user is assigned to a task, then they should automatically be assigned read access to the project? or have a global setting to read or deny, so resources can view the project info.

- actual Browser support. I have to work with Firefox and msie ... Parallel :(
- reports: tasks As Option As well to Create reports !!!
- flexible and configurable e-Mail notification module by Single user
- listviews configurable e.g. I can add column hours to project lists !!!
- Field Management e.g. For Task section so i can add own fields
