Not enough data in a stream?

I’ve backed up all my email and went ahead to copy it to another IMAP server. After about 2 hours I got an error message: “Cannot send command to the server because the response for previous one was not received”. Below were several lines of information like:


Message 0-599.eml

Not enough data in a stream


There were more like these.

I gave it a rest and tried the day after. Still got the same error messages.

I noticed there were some email messages copied to the server I am trying to migrate to, but definitely not all of them.

Any ideas?

Hi Eylon,

I apologize for the late response.
On a first guess it sounds like the server quit the session after two hours.

This might be due to regulations your service provider has set.
What provider are you connecting to?
In their terms and regulations, you might find a clue about limitations.

I had the same problem today.  I was migrating my email from a thunderbird POP account, that I archived into MailStore, and then was exporting to GMail.  Is there a limit in Google that I should have been aware of, and if so how do you easily split up a larger job into batches?

I made it to 12014 emails, and then it died.

Yes, there is a limit...
Read  all the info on this page, but in particular 

Use IMAP to check Gmail on other email clients

Note: To avoid locking yourself out of your account, make sure you don't exceed 2500 MB per day for IMAP downloads and 500 MB per day for IMAP uploads. If you're setting up a single IMAP account on multiple computers, try taking a break between each setup.

Hope this explains why the uploads stop.
Hence,  next day repeat - sorry- no fault of MSH ...
