Sometime ago I created a profile for my webmail on lineone. I can still retrieve the email but the company are long gone and I no longer have the password. The only place where I still have the password for the account is in MSH. Is there any way to recover the account password from MSH?

Hi Brian,

Something doesn't seem to jibe in your question.
You write that you can still retrieve the mail, but the company is long gone.

Hence the account still exists. Which is unlikely if the company is gone, but possible
if a new company has kept the old mail accounts and logins.

Who is this webmail provider and with what are you retrieving the mail ? see below....

As to your question - I don't know where MSH stores the passwords, but I bet they're encrypted..

However, I did some more checking and am now more aware of the background.
LineOne became Tiscali and then TalkTalk.co.uk

I would suggest to try the info in this link
https://help2.talktalk.co.uk/forgotten-your-my-account-details
and see if you can reset or recover your PW there..
or go here    https://help2.talktalk.co.uk/  chat or call etc

Good luck and Happy 2018

Peter.

Dear Brian,

I am sorry to say, but because of obvious reasons password recovery is not an option. It is either known, or needs to be reset. In your case, it is simply "bad luck" that the company is long gone or changed methods.
In fact, there is no way to recover a password in MSH - it is encrypted and secured.
I am going to close this discussion since it is the wrong approach by circumventing security measures put in place to protect such e-mail entry points.
