Up until recently, I have been using the Endomondo Android app with my phone to record my runs. I recently purchased a new Timex Run Trainer 2.0 GPS watch and was very pleased when Endomondo had no difficulty uploading my *.fit files.
However, today I noticed that the stats on Endomondo from my watch do not match the values displayed on my watch. For comparison purposes I uploaded the same *.fit file to another activity tracking web site and it accurately reflected the values displayed on the watch.
For example, the fit file I uploaded today was for a 5k run:
Watch Endomondo Other
Lap1 6'29" 6'26" 6'28"
Lap2 7'44" 7'27" 7'43"
Lap3 7'49" 7'45" 7'48"
Lap4 43" 2'18"
Also the graph appears to show some statistical errors. In the screen capture below I have chosen the 22m 50s time on the graph which should be the end of the race, however the pop up stats show a distance of 3.17 miles when my total distance is only 3.11 miles.
I am looking to upgrade to premium, however if the statistics and charts do not reflect the actual data then it reduces their usefulness. Please let me know if you need any further information.
We do actually not support upload of .fit files, so it is a bit of a lucky coincidence that you get any useful data into Endomondo in the first place.
Maybe your Timex can export in .tcx or .gpx, or maybe you can find an online converter from .fit to gpx or tcx files?
I suspect that the Endomondo web site supports the Garmin (slightly modified) version of fit format files, and that it may not be too hard to officially support that Timex fit file format.
Would this be something that could be done ? If so, I am more than happy to supply some data files.
