What do you mean, the day is over already?

I was just in the middle of finishing up my 750 (145 left!) when I was rudely interrupted by an arbitrary deadline. Why midnight? Some of us do our writing at night, and we should be able to customize the end-of-day time. It would work a lot better for me if the cutoff was around 6 a.m.

You could always lie about your timezone, and get an extra hour or two (Or six, if you really want :P ). And As to why midnight, I think it has to do with the fact that it is no longer that day at midnight ;-)

I just started with 750words and I have the same feeling- of course you can fool around with timezones but that ́s not the point- the point is about being able to customize it according to your personal preferences- giving credit to everyone ́s time habits- wouldn ́t take much to change it but provide quite an upgrade in people ́s comfort with this great tool.

I totally agree, especially when you are already writing - the interruption should not happen, as it disturbs, couple times I continued writing in my word program, but I do not understand why I had to stop writing being in the middle only because of the midnight. Can you avoid interruption of this kind for the texts once started? ?

I agree! I had a bad experience where I was in the middle of writing when it hit midnight, and I actually almost lost much of my writing as it didn't save anything I wrote after midnight! Especially as there is even a badge for night time writing, I would love to be able to change the "end of day" time.

Having been prewarned by comments like the above, I avoided getting cut off, and managed to use/abuse the timezone feature to get myself an extra few hours when I've written at night.

I can understand that this was initially based on Morning Pages, so writing at night is perhaps not the same intention. Does 750 words expand it's 'brief' for those writing at the end of the day? Or do we just have to keep using a workaround because we're not using it for its intended purpose?

you are right, I also changed my time zone, which seems to be the only way to avoid interruption; I myself prefer to write in the morning, however I understand that there may be some people having different habits; sometimes breaking the routine (eg. while travelling) I prefer writing by night rather than just loosing the day; I just do not believe that an intended purpose of such a good thing as 750words is, can make anyone a slave in the name of a minor matter; regards
