Comparative Best Lab Solutions

Ok, well I am still testing this theory, but thought I might as well release it since I'm not sure how much longer it will be useful for. The new voting system would sort of make this redundant.

Anyways, I know its very messy and I know some people would say it has no merit. But I'm open to suggestions to make it better!

So what I did was using donald's and nadine's synthesis results, I used them as a control and measured every lab submission as to how similar they were to each other. And then divided by 2 for a rough average.

So to first test my theory, I used the Synthesized results.

So from my point of view, not too bad as a reckoner.

So applied my logic to all of the submissions and here are the top few results.

My key point here is because I have two high quality samples to work from, I can roughly gauge the best candidates. And this was all designed with the emphasis to make it easy to sort the best submissions to vote for.

PLEASE NOTE the submissions which don't have a synthesis score yet. Which means they are in this current round and you can only benefit to vote for them if you have spare votes to go.

And to prevent anyone saying I am not being neutral, I have removed my Round 4 submissions from the table.

Thanks so much for doing this work and sharing it here. This looks like a great way for people to compare how close two designs are to each other and to the best synthesized designs we have so far.

It would be very helpful to have information like this available to us as we are reviewing designs for voting, even in the new format that will be implemented soon.

This is the first step towards cluster analysis. You can already see some entries that are distant from donald & Nadine yet scored relatively high. Those might be dead ends, or there might be even better designs to look for that are more similar to those.

For what it's worth, the fact that unsynthesized designs take on the score of the most similar synthesized design pretty much already does part of what you're trying to do. It would be nice to have a distance function like yours to sort by in the lab table, though.
