Hi Jee and Mat -- this is an interesting collection! It might be interesting to parse a database of known RNA structure (like the ribosomal RNA) to see if these match up with the tetraloops seen in Nature. My impression is that a more common pattern is GNRA, (where N is any nucleotide, and R =A or G), and another famous stable loop is UNCG, but AAAA may be common too.

There is also a known dependence on the closing base pair (G-C vs. C-G), and I wonder if Mat has reproduced this!
