818P mnemonic for program number

For a multi-programme 818 controller (e.g. 818P4), how do you set the active programme number to run, or specify which programme is being defined with the r1/l1/t1 etc. mnemonics, using digital communications? The 2000 series commands (PN, EP) and 3000 series parameter (in XS) are not documented for 818 controllers. Is this possible at all?

    Hello Simon,
I've ben looking through the old 800 Series communications manual and I cannot find any mnemonic information on the Optional Status Word(OS), relating to the program number/selection. However, looking through the EI-Bisync mnemonics for the 3504 which are designed to reflect the 818 / 902 controllers there is Extended status word (XS) seem to show program number bit 9 - This maybe just the 902 unit, worth trying though!

  • For the record, this works on my 818P4 via RS232. All I'd like to find now is how to set the Program value for Cnt y/n so that I can link programs..

edit: Solved. Setting Lc 0 links programs, Lc 1 disables.

  • Probably the 800 Communications Handbook is a good reference.
