Additional information request for an iTools v8.76 installation

I am supporting in the upgrade of our iTools and am trying to gather information. I have investigated the http://www.eurotherm.com/downloads/ webpage and cannot find the answers I require. Can someone offer assistance to the questions listed below?

Can you provide or direct me to the System Requirements for 8.76?

If possible also any known issues or possible problems with this 8.76 release.

Lastly, will my iTools v7.2 20 character Product Key will work for new install of 8.76?

Thank you,
Don

  • Hi Don. I will find a document that will advise on system requirements for Itools v8.7 if we have one. There are no known issues currently we are aware of in support on the latest version.

Yes your 20 character Product key will work on the latest version, just install over the top of the old version.

  • As regards system requirements, we specify Windows XP SP3, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008 (including R2). Minimum RAM is 1 GB, or the minimum specified by Microsoft for the Windows version in question.

We no longer specify a formal figure for minimum disk space, because it can too easily be misleading. iTools itself will require no more than 1 GB, but Windows will typically show poor performance unless, say, 3-4 GB remains available.

  • We have a Eurotherm 2404 controller and have been experiencing drop issues when data logging VIA the OPC scope. The file (.csv) path is over our company’s Network to a server in another location.

As part of the troubleshooting process, we have:

Replaced the original desktop which had iTools 7.2
Changed the desktop OS from XP to Windows 7
Changed iTools from v7.2 to v8.76
    Removed Anti-virus software

Performing the above actions did not resolve the issue. The drop issues do not appear to follow a pattern or interval. Running out of ideas on what to try next. Any suggestions as to why or what to try next will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You,

    Don
