    Hello Hamid,

    Thank you for your reply.

You have a 2 wire RS485 comms board so you must be using a RS485 to RS232 adapter, is this correct?

Have you setup the Modbus details in iTools registry settings in the your PC Control Panel?

can you give me more information for setup the iTools?

  • Hello Bob
I followed the steps provided by video you suggested but got no luck. I set all of parameter ( Baud Rate, Stop bit, parity) in itools and 2216e according to video but there was an Error in communication as shown in Pics. As i said before, I'm using a USB to Serial converter for communication. I'm really confused what's the problem?
It's very kind of you to help me for solving this problem.
    Many Thanks.

    Hello Mohammad,

I have some comments for you from R&D below.

It looks like the OPC Server address space has a 2216e V4.01 configured probably on COM4.

However it looks like there might not be any physical connection on COM4 to the 2216e device, as it is reporting timeout errors.

    This could be because:

    • Device not physically connected
    • Device and iTools OPC Server BAUD rates different
    • 2216e not configured for MODBUS

Perhaps you should first delete any saved address space (i.e. delete the device in EuroMBus), then perform a comms scan to see if it finds the device. If that does, make sure you resave the address space, otherwise the next time you startup it will reload the original configuration.

  • HI Bob,

I have a similar problem. I use IR clip cable to connect to Model 3504.
I could find connect to my devices( Model 3504) one month ago but now when I scan, iTools can not find my devices. I check iTools control panel and everything is set how it supposed to be.

I checked the the eurombus log and Message says : "Unable to locate host 192.168.111.222(192.168.111.222):502 on port default - cannot connect"
    What can the problem be?
