I’m bewildered

What does the ordering code mean?

The manual states that the installed modules are listed in the ordering code, only the ordering code (or the closest thing I can find) makes no sense.

I have: 3504 /CC /VL /X /XX /X /X /XXX /S /LO /XX /AM /XX /TK /TK /XX /XX /XX /ENG /ENG /XXXXX /XXXXX /XXXXX /XXXXXX /CFG /C /PX /X / / /X /XX /X / / /XXX /XXX /XXX /XXX /XX /XX /XX /XXX /XXX /XXX /XXX /XXX /XXX

What does that mean? Are the line breaks important?!

  • Hi Graham,

This means you have a 3504 and the code is divided into two set of coding:

    Order Code Hardware/options coding:
CC(standard) VL(Supply Voltage- 24V ac/dc) X (No recipes) XXX (Standard 30 Wires) S (Silver) LO (Isolated single logic OP) AM( Analogue input(not slot 2 or 5)) TK ( Triple contact input) ENG( Product Language- English)

    Configuration coding:
CFG (Factory configured) C (Centigrade) PX (Single Channel PID) ..

You can download the Datasheet from the Eurotherm Website and check the code yourself.
    Try this- http://www.eurotherm.co.uk/downloads?...

Thanks. Might have been easier to provide links to the datasheet, rather than have customers waste hours trawling through the Eurotherm web site and having to resort to asking a question here.

It looks like the modules ordered don't match the modules supplied, so that's a great start to small budget, short lead project.

We won't be using your hardware again.

Can you please proivde me detials of your location as there can be local eurotherm representative to resolve this issue with your order.

Really apologies for the experience but rest assure we are here to help you and please do not hesiste to contact me on my email for the issue.

  • Yes, of course I looked at the datasheet. I was commenting that if I hadn't asked the question here, I would have been unable to find it on the Eurotherm web site because it's so difficult to find anything.

I have the local reps details; my colleague is contacting them re the incorrect configuration, incorrect PSU voltage and also a missing analogue output module...

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi Graham.

I'm the 3500 product manager. Can you email me direct at tim.linnell@schneider-electric.com so I can get some details from you to investigate further.

We build to order and the product coding on the instrument label reflects what is built in the factory (it's a closed loop process with the label being printed after test). I need to trace the order through original order code and distribution network to figure out where and why incorrect modules were fitted.

I'm also contacting Achal, so if you've already sent info to him no need to repeat, and have passed on details of the complaint to our quality department so it can formally be logged and investigated.

    Apologies for the problems, Tim
