I'm not sure i'm the only one that noticed this, haven't searched the forums to death, BUT here's the issue.
When sending troops, regarless of attacks/reinforce/transport, the food actually consumed is WAY more then the indicated number on the march screen. I think the relief station level, that speeds up the march, doesn't contribute to the actual food beeing used.
Example:
reinforcing 1k cavalry 1.4 miles away:
Start food is: 30.000
Stated food needed is: 94 food
Food after sending: 29.445
30.000 - 29.445 = 555 food (give or take 1 sec of food production)
so it's over 5 times more as stated.... either the number shown is calculated wrong or sending troops is far more expensive as shown, this has been like this from day 1.....

I had the Same issue on Friday night, i rein. a city with some mechs said 7hrs no biggie but but food was only ike 120mil so i thought ok.
Moved them and low and behold all the mechs took all my food of 800mil + so then i had to delete other troops to get my food bill back down.
Maybe Evony can fix this glitch as they cannot seem to merge another of the other serve's in question.

thantium, this problem has been around since I started playing - almost an year. The food consumed on march is always more than the march screen shows. And I'm more than 100% sure that every single player has this problem; i guess most people just don't notice. I don't understand how clearing browser cache and cookies is going to fix internal dev programming issue.

The issue is not in the browser cookies. It's in the calculation of the food used. Attacking people etc is accurate food-consumption wise. But transporting / reinforcing between your own cities or alliance cities displays the food required (bottom left corner of marchscreen) taking into your Reliefstation and HBR research, but when actually sending it it takes the whole lot asif you have no Reliefstation or a low level HBR. This issue has been here from day 1 played, and that's on day 1 of server40 some 2 years ago now...
So for me the problem is NOT solved -

I reported this problem to Evony and received a canned response stating that it is due to an incorrect display issue related to food consumption. This is not possible, since I had been using Vesta's every day along with food buffs for over a month and had Christmas cookies and Milk applied along with 10 Facebook food buffs (resulting in 0 food consumption) at the time I reported this.
My actual food consumption varies greatly from the calculated amount...anywhere from two to ten times as much. This is a tremendous headache and is especially unfair to those of us with longer march/camp times. We just took 9 level 16's on our server (along with finishing off the rest of the level 14's) in about two weeks time, and I cannot tell you how much extra food this issue cost me...a month after my initially reporting it to Evony. -

The food cost for travel time NEEDS TO BE FIXED. it needs to give accurate numbers on what it will cost to move troops, not only 1/5 of what it will actually cost. Today i moved 20k pults and 50k balls 60 miles. and it cost me nearly 300+ mill food. It told me in the screen that it would only cost 50 mil food, so i figured its worth it. i press send, and im out 300+ mil food. Thatium plz give us some feeedback on this problem. its killing me in food.

This is a problem that has been around for a long time, around 3 years or so since Evony first started. The problem is directly linked to your relief station. Relief station will decrease your march time based on level however it does not reduce the food to compensate for the reduced march time. So for example if it should take 8 hours and 8 million food to march between city X and city Y but due to your relief hut it only takes 1 hour it will still cost the same 8 million food as if you did not have a relief hut. Feel free to test this but the mechanics behind this bug are well known. You will also notice that when attacking the food consumption is correct because this does not involve your relief hut as relief hut only reduces march times between your own and friendly cities. Evony tried to argue that this was not a bug about 2 years ago in a forum post "Working as intended" was the response we recieved. However I will repeat what I said back then, the food consumption is reduced correctly for hbr/compass and therefore the food used shouyld be calculated based upon the actual march time so relief huts should reduce food cost between your own and allied cities. It makes no sense to not reduce the food to match the reduction in march time and even if it did then the tooltip that shows how much food will be consumed should be adjusted accordingly.
Also I would like to point out the fact that this has been a known issue since Evony release and congratulate the Evony staff on their attention to detail for fixing it so swiftly. -

this is yet another problem that's been reported through the help spot many times but has somehow managed to still be a problem after a year of people reporting it. these are the kind of real problems people want fixed, if these issues get resolved in a timely manner then you will find people being a lot less aggressive when you change something that on the whole people don't agree with.
