Free worlds!

Evony should release one or two free worlds where you cant buy cents or any items with cash, you can only get cents from wheels and quests. This way, the 95% of players that dont use thousands of dollars into this game can actually shine.
How do you earn a profit from this? Lots of ways:
1. Old player rejoins because free. Gets addicted again. Goes to other worlds. Gets mad at advantages paid players have over him/her. Buys cents. Becomes happy. Goes broke. Evony gets profit.
2. Put ads for this world, because it is free.
3. Strike a deal with companies with surveys so you can get cents by doing surveys.
4. Strike a deal with fb to buy cents with credits, because you could earn credits(other worlds)
5. Players get happy, attracts more players, get more money from players on other worlds.

The worthless updates to things like graphics and avatars are old and useless, make an update for something nice and new for once, like this!

This comes up occasionally on feedback. The short form of the answer is that we are not going to offer a free server at this time, because Evony is already free.

Preventing someone from buying cents unfairly impacts their ability to chose to play the game the way they want to, and would prevent them from using items and services available. Also, specifically the ads: those would negatively impact the ad free atmosphere we have for the game, and will not happen.

We've tested point #3, and it tested poorly overall for the game. #4 will not happen due to the way FB does business.

Overall, at the end of the day a lot of people play Evony in their own way, some like to use items, some like to go at it the harder way. I think by limiting a player in their decision to use items or not would be unfair, and set a poor precedent.

Some also claim it would "level the playing field," but that's not accurate either.

    Thanks for the idea, though.

  • Side note on #3

Those are called offerwalls. They where popular a few years ago, and the "advertisers" where offering great deals. Currently what we get paid on offerwalls barely covers the management and design/programming of the feature. Simply put the advertisers no longer pay anything for those referrals as the quality of referrals ended up being very poor.
