Give us the whole page in focus. Refreshing gives us the whole page in focus, but we should not have to refresh.

  • Since the issue has been addressed, I have not had to refresh any image in the viewer, even after paging through successive images. It tends to sharpen within a second or two after the move has been made.

  • Bringing up Probates this morning in Dade County, Missouri brought up the whole page and it was great like it used to do last week.

Moving over to Dade County, Missouri Wills is a different story. It brings up parts of the page, and I have to run my mouse over the page in order for it to focus-in, while other parts of the page go out of focus. It is driving me nuts. Yes, I do get small portions of the page that still do not focus-in and I have to refresh, and yes I did purchase your CCleaner and am not too impressed.

Why can't the whole page be brought up in-focus like it did in the Probate records this morning. Is familysearch still working against desktop computers and all this only parts of a page focusing in and parts of a page focusing out is for mobile devices?

  • Hm. Sounds like a problem with some record sets and not others. FamillySearch engineers: Please troubleshoot.

  • When a similar issue was reported here some months ago it appeared the problem was inclined to relate to two factors: (1) The amount of images being viewed successively. (2) The amount of images on the digitised film.

For example, for "(1)" if you were browsing through just a few images no problem would probably be noticed. In the case of "(2)" there would be a greater likelihood of having trouble with, for example, a "1 of 4786" collection than a "1 of 212" one.

I have been very surprised that comparatively few users have been bothered by these issues of loading / focusing. I assume this must be partly due to the average user not sitting for hours viewing a complete digitised film!
