  • Also, there is no confirmation of the delete. I accidentally clicked it while moving over it and deleted a photo by accident.

  • I would like to delete a tag and photo and start over because when I tagged the photo it shows a blank circle with the words no image(in the peoples section). When I click on the delete button it does show me the red x but when I click on it, it does nothing (Inactive) I tried doing this in Firefox and Chrome with the same results. The picture is my grandfather Lionel Lindsay https://familysearch.org/photos/view/...
I also wanted to know when or where the pictures will show up on familytree. I have attached several pictures to the tree but cannot fine them. Is the feature viewing the pictures we attach to the tree active if not when will it be.

  • Patrice,

There seems to be problems with Lionel Lindsay, and we are currently using it to investigate issues. I've noticed that there are some issues with the data, we need to either not allow those issues to occur or make sure the user can still delete and move on. So, if you would be patient and allow us to use your data to find and fix problems, we would appreciate it. Also, most of the engineering team is off for Christmas, so it may be a while before we get the issues resolved.

When they are resolved, you will be able to delete your photo or tag and start over.

Second question: When and where photos will show up on FamilyTree. The integration is not complete, so they are currently not available. Your observation that you can't find them in FamilyTree is correct. There are two places where you will be able to see photos from FamilyTree in the future, both of them from the ancestor/person view page. Currently there is a silhouette in the upper left corner of the person view page. When integration with the tree is complete, a portrait photo will be displayed there rather than the silhouette. In addition, all the photos in which this person has been tagged will be just a click away and you will see all the photos you currently see when you click on a person on your "People" page.

As to when, I would expect it to be available some time this spring.

  • I seem to have the same problem I had with Lionel Lindsay with another ancestor. His name is Howard Whitton Harris (stating no image after tagging) His image number is https://familysearch.org/photos/perso... if you can help with this one also I would appreciate it. I have stopped uploading and tagging pictures because of this problem. Will you let me know when it is fixed? I also noticed some people are up loading documents (certificates) instead of pictures is that okay or do you want us to wait until you have a document link or button. I noticed a few weeks ago you had a document button but it has disappeared.
    Thanks for your help,
    Patrice

  • Thanks for sharing the specifics of the problem so we can investigate. There does appear to be a problem. I will let you know when the problem is fixed.

As far as documents, the plan for documents is to handle them differently than photos of ancestors. The plan is to integrate documents in with RecordSearch so you can upload your documents and tie them into historical records. That functionaity is not currrenlty implemented.

We will not prevent you from uploading documents, but the preferred way would be to wait for the integration with RecordSearch. We originally put the documents link up to show that there was a plan for documents, and encourage people to wait for the new solution. Maybe we should go back to that.

  • Terrie,

These are a few months old, and the issues discussed here have been resolved.

If you can give me some specifics on the issues you are seeing, I can investigate.

  • Beth,
I went back to my photos that were having the problem and deleted them. When I uploaded them again tagged and connected them to the tree everything worked just fine as of last week.
