I’m confident

My Mother's birthplace.

My mother was born on her parents' farm in Harveyville, Osage, Kansas. I am not sure why her place of birth was not declared. Maybe the reason is the person who submitted the information did not know of these details. Please change this to the place I have given you.

  • There are two things that need clarified...

First, if you are looking at a historical record using Search... Records, with your mother’s birth name, it is possible that she was born at home, which likely did not take place in the town. But if she was born in the hospital in the town, then there may be a birth record that exists outside the record you are looking at.

Second, if you are looking on the massive family tree, then it is possible that he record was put together using a census record or records..

In the tree, her PID is the number that is assigned to that record of your mother. It will be composed of two parts, separated by a dash, for instance, LXMB-N2C... (this is a number I made up, but it may actually be someone’s number).

You can correct the information in the tree — it is an open-edit collaborative tree, but if your mother is still living, then if someone else created the record, then you should not be seeing it on the tree.

In that case, you are likely looking at a historical record, so to help us patrons see what you’re looking at, copy and paste the Internet address into a response and we should be able to help.
