Need to change statement of acceptable formats of memories

The instructions for uploading a story into the gallery is not totally correct. When one clicks on the story ICON and then the green plus sign it lists the acceptable formats including PDF. PDF is not an accepted story format and what is more it uploads a PDF file automatically into a Document without any warning message. When one clicks on the story icon it should not list pdf as an acceptable format and further it should not upload anything and should give a error message. People keep loading stories into documents and then ask how to move it from documents to stories and that can't be done. It is frustrating to the user.

  • You cannot upload a "story" into FS. You can copy/paste from an outside document but no other way. If you choose to upload a story, it would have to be in PDF format which would upload as a document since that is the only acceptable format for a PDF. Clicking the story icon only filters the Gallery view down to stories. It does not have anything to do with what is added using the green +.

  • Someone at FamilySearch, please address this issue.

    Each of the areas (photos, stories, documents, and audio) need to have what can be uploaded into that area.

    Obviously, stories is the one area where nothing can be uploaded. The story either must be created (and saved before the twenty-minute timeout occurs) online or the text copied and pasted as an entry.

    Hopefully, someone at FamilySearch will respond to let us know if anything will be done to resolve the ambiguous statement that says, "We support .jpg, .tif, .bmp, .png, .pdf, .mp3, .m4a, and .wav, up to 15MB."

    Rather than the single line, it would be better if the following were stated:
    ==
    Photos support image formats .jpg, .tif, .bmp, .png, up to 15MB.
    Documents support image formats .jpg, .tif, .bmp, .png, and the document format .pdf, up to 15MB.
    Audio supports .mp3, .m4a, and .wav, up to 15MB.
    Stories support text entered via keyboard* or copied and pasted + one image.

    * There is a twenty-minute timeout with no activity, so save stories entered via keyboard often.
    ==

    That should remove all ambiguity when uploading memories.
