Optimizing printouts

Printing from the FHL Catalog: It would be good to be able to print the list of source titles found in a catalog search, and also to print a page for each source found that is formatted like it was in the old FamilySearch (concisely). Right now it prints a lot of extraneous information on many pages. I know you are probably working on optimizing the printing, and just want to say I support this and it will be a great help.
Printing from Historical Records: It would be nice to have more source information on the printout for a document. Thanks very much.

  • Thank you for taking the time to share your idea for improving the FamilySearch website. This system allows everyone to view the ideas of others and to vote on the ideas they like best. The ideas with the most votes do tend to get the most attention, but our product managers carefully review all the ideas. Please keep in mind that regardless of votes, some ideas may never be implemented. Many factors are reviewed to determine whether an idea should be implemented. Also note that some ideas take a long time to implement. We appreciate your contribution and hope that you will continue to share your ideas with us.
    • USing the feedback search there are 181 'print' topics. Of the first 25, 7 of them are dealing with this topic with 42 likes and 20 responses. Every day when I visit these fedbacks some one has brought up the printing issue again. It is obviously a concern but I wonder if people (especially the less computer savvy realize its a popularity contest to get an idea noticed. I doubt that many go past the first couple pages. I won't suggest that you work on better organiztion for feedback as that would take awayeffort from the printing issue. I would suggest some actually check how many posts, likes there actually are for better record printing. I know that it is definately an ongoing concern at the family history center where I volunteer. If the ratio of the first 25 topics on print follows through the rest there are probably 60 + topics with well over 100 likes and 40 + replies

Marie, we need more resources to review and match up the duplicates in here. If you have time and can assist, please post here the URLS for each of those you think are the same issue as this one. Thanks!
