So why expect (careless) users not to input nonsense data?

In performing a search for a burial / death of a Catherine McAll / McCaul in the 1763-1820 period I was presented with the results illustrated below. (See https://www.familysearch.org/search/r...). I don't know what the "2" and "10" in the 2nd & 3rd result are supposed to represent, but that is rather besides the point. Why is FamilySearch presenting pre-1821 deaths to me when these two individuals were born in 1918 & 1928, respectively?

Surely the algorithm should be tweaked to exclude nonsense results like this?
