Feedly won't install properly in Safari 5.0.6?!

I've tried everything I can to get this to work and it won't. I've gone into Safari preferences and made sure Extensions is enabled. I've checked "Show Develop Menu in Menu Bar" in Preferences as well.

When I download and then click on the item, it gives me the option to install, which I have done. The Feedly "icon" button is showing up on my browser window AND when I click on Extensions in Safari Preferences I see the Feedly Extension there (yes, the box that says enable Feedly is checked).

Yet, when I click on the Feedly icon on my browser, it goes to the Feedly installation page. It's like it hasn't even been installed?!

HELP?! I've messed with this for about an hour now and I give up. :(

Hmm. Sorry about that. I am not able to reproduce this problem. Can you please let me know what you see when you try to load:

1 year and 500.000 refugees from Google Reader later, it seems you guys still haven't solved the Safari problem, how come?

I get the same thing. I've been trying for a while now to get it to work, and I keep running into the same scenario above. All I want is my Feedly back!

Could it be that you changed some of the safari configuration settings to now allow cookies?

I haven't touched a thing since the last version of Feedly, which worked just fine. And right now it's set to accept cookies from sites I visit.

Having been having the same problem since the new version was announced. Needs a fix asap because as it is I can't use feedly since I don't use Firefox.

Even just acknowledging this is a problem would be helpful--is there some new version we need to be waiting for? Because its been several days now.

This new version is just not taking you to "feedly.com/home#my/welcome". Instead just goes to feedly.com/home which in turn goes to http://www.feedly.com/#required (which is the home page to download & install feedly) sigh !
Can you atleast give us Safari 5.0.6 users a pointer/url to download the previous working Feedly version in the meantime ?

Okay, seriously. So many people on here are having the same problem with the Safari 5.0.6 redirect in Feedly, meaning we can't even install it. Are you guys going to do anything? I've posted on here for a few weeks now. It's frustrating that no status update from Feedly's side or anything has been posted on any of these threads. What's the progress?

I really hate that this isn't solved already. It's obvious that we're all having the exact same problem. I wish I had the time to set aside to Skype with you about this, but I don't. Maybe someone else will? As prashks said, we are unable to go to the welcome page. Even after having "installed" the extension and making sure everything is enabled, we're immediately redirected to the "install required" home page.

I just want to say thanks to everyone else who has chimed in. At first, I was unsure if I was the only one having this problem. I hope we're able to bring enough attention to this matter so that it can get resolved and we'll be able to use Feedly soon. :(

I've gotten a few responses tweeting and publicizing the issue. I encourage everyone to do the same and @feedly when you do. Very very frustrated at this point.

It is almost disrespectful that the issue is only being "acknowledged" now a few weeks later. But it also shows how many people want to use the product! Great product but the support here is really problematic.

A user earlier (forget who) suggested @feedly post a link to an earlier version for those users having the problem. This suggestion hasn't been acknowledged by the staff yet. Is that a viable workaround? Please "acknowledge" at least yes or no there.

And if it isn't viable--please fix this A.S.A.P.

Let me repeat what I said earlier. Some people seem to have missed it: "Sorry. Same problem here... unfortunately, I can't update beyond Safari 5.0.6, and can't log in to feedly. The install-#required page is all that i get to see...

Same problem for me - just tested with the latest version of Feedly for Safari. I even set up a separate problem report before I found this one. It's here:

https://getsatisfaction.com/feedly/to...

Can I help somehow by providing more details / logs / configuration info?

Hi edwk,

Thanks for looking into this. I'm sorry that I cannot skype with you since I'm at work. I just wanted to let you know that I'm having the same issue with ff 10.0.2 (Redirect to http://www.feedly.com/#required).

I've loaded the latest version of feedly 9.1 three times and still no luck. I've also gone through and disabled every single add on so that only feedly was active and still got the same thing.

I'm on XP Pro SP 3.

Thanks,
cs

I had the same issue with FireFox and the issue was that I had set FF to not accept cookies from the third party sites. Once I allowed those cookies, Feedly started working.

Thanks for the heads up. I will make sure that the next iteration of feedly works even if third party cookies are NOT enabled: I do not think that we need this anymore now that we use OAuth for authentication.

I'm using the latest version of Feedly (which I believe uses OAuth) and it requires the third party cookies. I set my FF so that I would get a pop up for each cookie and most of the cookies that would've been blocked were from the *.google.com domain (which kinda makes sense as it is the source of the data...).

Hello,

The problem still exists, and since Google Reader is shutting down in July, you should definitely have feedly work in Mac OS X 10.5 (for people like me stuck with an old computer at work).

Thanks !

I am a new user from Google Reader and am also having the same problem on Safari. Cookies and extensions are enabled. Have you been able to reproduce this problem since the last time this was reported? Thanks for your help!
