It wont post my reviews on my Facebook wall??

  • Problem
  • Updated 2 weeks ago
I have written over 500 reviews and people depend on me for my movie reviews. I always write them and post on my facebook wall. Now with this new Flixster, I was able to link my account and everything seems fine but when I wrote my latest review and hit Post, it did not post it on my wall. I have tried lots of diff options and it will not post....what do I do??

I'm having exactly the same problem. Have sent an email to Flixster, to see if the ability to post movie reviews to your wall has been removed, We shall see what they say.

I think the reason is because there is a whole lot of people mad about the NEW SYSTEM where you can not simply download the movie into iTunes, now we all need to be WiFi connected to see the movie we just paid lots of money for!

I'm clicking that thing in the corner, and it isnt working. It used to just ask me if I wanted to post it. I've logged out and logged back in, tried opening a new tab, nothing's working!

The old Flixster app for Facebook was bugging completely out with Facebook's https, but at least it posted reviews to my wall...
The new app doesn't seem to mesh well with Facebook at all.
Do it again and do it right!

I totally agree with the other posts here. I want to be able to post my reviews to Facebook, that's one of the main perks of this app.

This is really amazing, how they just suddenly took out a great service like that and quick rate is gone too. They just totally ruined the app and with total disregard for all the people who use the app regularly, Completely idiotic decision to make the chages in this way. I am surprised not to see more outrage cause supposedly alot of people used it. But I will be closing my account, this was a slap in the face to all flixster facebook users

I have the same problem. Posting reviews to my wall was the only reason I used Flixster in the first place. If I can't do that anymore, then I don't care how many "new and exciting!" features they have. Flixster has become completely useless.

Sharing and discussing films with Facebook friends is why I use Flixster. Now, why bother?

+1 here as well.

Hopefully this feature will be added soon, and will allow previously posted reviews to be retroactively added to the Facebook wall.

Why would Flixster stil not respond to this post, after all of these comments? A social media tool should be much quicker to respond to its users.

Facebook released a new feature called timeline recently and is slowly rolling out the implementation to all users. We are working with Facebook to be compatible with this new profile as it is being released. In the future, wall posts will be less important and less prominent than OpenGraph stories (also in beta), which we are supporting in the new Flixster. During this transition period, we didn't include the old facebook wall posts in our implementation, but we will bring them back very soon (probably this week).

Bryan - will friends' comments made on my reviews (made within the old Flixster app) reappear soon too? They all seem to have been deleted since the change.

Also, in the past each review of mine had a unique url, to which I could link from elsewhere. This no longer seems to the case. I'm struggling to see how any of this makes this a platform I want to continue using for my film reviews.

Don't like the direction Facebook, and indeed its attachments like Flixster are going. Timeline? Yuk! Everyone had it right, that's why MySpace got a pasting. Why fiddle with it? Well obviously for commercial reasons. Suspicious. Every time there is a change towards this the customers loose some of the functionality they started with that they enjoyed. As the fiddling increases, users are going to get miffed and look elsewhere. There was a saying pre-computer: "If it aint broke, don't fix it."

Oh, and that's ANOTHER thing. To talk to Flixster I now have to 'allow' some company called 'Satisfaction' access to my information? I deliberately dodge most apps from Facebook because of this. Now we need a 2nd company to have access for an app we already have?

Appears as though Flixster didn't bother to ask how people were using their app. I'm with the many who used Flixster for reviews - both so that I can track what I've seen, and my opinions of the movies, and to share with friends. Without the original capability to post a review to my wall, the app is useless and will be removed.

Which begs a question: Assuming the integration doesn't happen, will I be guaranteed that Flixster will remove all of my information when I remove the app?
