Why is this pile of shit being pushed on unsuspecting consumers?

I hate this. I don't have a digital copy. You have to download programs that I don't want. I would like to tell the person who thought this was a good idea to please stop trying to come up with ways to force us to download and join yet another piece of crap service with an app that I have to keep track of. I have iTunes. It works great and is easy to use with all my devices. Windows is just as well supported with iTunes. This whole thing is lame. I guess this might me WB plan because I will just buy the iTunes version because not only is this broken but too much of a hassle for any consumer.

    I'm pretty sure this is the last disc I'll buy with UV/Flixter digital copy. iTunes is so much more intuitive, and you have an actual file on your computer that will play even when you're far away from the Internet. This, by comparison, is a byzantine and steaming pile of frustration.

    Agreed. This is terrible. Itunes has always been our choice for accessing digital copies. Now we have a new app that prevents us from putting these movies on our Ipod. I would NEVER have purchased this movie if I knew the "digital copy" wouldn't be compatible with Itunes. I will likely never purchase another movie from WB if they continue to force us to use Flixster. I'll just purchase directly through Itunes.

    I think it is time for a Class Action Law Suit for this fraud. WB is mis-leading the public and forcing consumers to spend additional money to purchase the digital copy from Itunes. This Flixster/Ultraviolet digital copy ad on the package is a total deception and false advertising to the consumer. It misleads the consumer to believe he will still have a choice to select Itunes or Windows type download. Nothing mentions a complete different setup. This will be the last WB purchase if they do not change their tactics.

    so i buy with the blueray/digital copy/dvd of Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2 paid $10 more to get the digital copy to put on my ipad. i try to download the digital copy and they sent me to FLIXTERS!!! THE WHOLE REASON FOR THE IPAD WAS TO BE ABLE TO WATCH THE DIGITAL MOVIES WHEN I DO NOT HAVE INTERNET ACCESS!!!

    SO FREAKN IRRATED!!! now i have part 1 and cannot download part 2. that was the whole reason for buying this!!! i do not even own a damn blue ray!!!! I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER DIGITAL COPY. guess i will now have to buy them directly through itunes which i would have done in the first place had I KNOW ABOUT THIS!!!! THANKS FOR NOTHING!!!!

    Hey guys. I went to the "issue a ticket" support section and left a complaint with UltraViolet. It took a few back and forth responses, but they finally issued me a token code to download the movie from iTunes. It's was very strange correspondence as they would reply with things like "thanks for being one of our best customers," after sending some very unkind words. I would replied back and got the response "we know that new technology has a learning curve." It all just seemed like they were trying to push me, so if you are going to try the same approach, be patient. I finally responded that I didn't want their crapy product and I saw that could be confusing to them as they were just telling me how great everyone thinks it is. This isn't new technology and the real issue is they want our patronage, but the way they have their service set up with "their" apps and streaming service and the yet another account that I have to keep track of isn't friendly to most consumers. I couldn't use with Apple TV which is how I do almost all of my digital library. I hope my experience can help.

    Let me see, it doesn't warn about it in the cover box, we all know that whenever we buy digital copy, we always use and download it with iTunes without any problem or hesitation, and the download movie are for keeps, not to worry about having internet service in order to watch the copy. Now, working with a lawyer, and having no trouble at all before with digital copy, all the warnings were suppose to be outside the cover, and not inside, where you have to read it AFTER buying the movie. The only way they could do that is selling the BD and DVD combo without the "Digital Copy" on the cover.
    Another thing is that this valid only in the US, meaning only the continuous 48 states. Then, what's going to happen to consumers that had bought the BD/DVD/Digital Copy and are not allow to stream the movie? They are not buying a different item, or stated "not valid in PR, Alaska and Hawaii.
    Flixster and UV, have you got any idea what you've done? Instead of forcing the consumer to use your product, you are driving them away.
    This could be one hell of a class law suit, and consumer could boycott WB.

    I will be over joyed to join in any class action law suit and after registering my displeasure with Warner Bros I am actively seeking a lawyer and this is Florida so there are plenty. As far as I'm concerned to have stolen from me and that is not going to continue. I jumped through all the hoops to get a digital copy and created the accounts - giving info that they have no business asking for. Never got the copies but from what I'm reading I am the lucky one. You have to be on the internet to watch "MY COPY". Defeats the purpose. Bait and switch would be a welcome change from their theft by deception. Bet your aunt Matilda's black cat's ass this will not be the end of this. Warner Brothers is off the list. I won't watch their movies - I won't buy their DVDs or Blu-Rays and will bad rap them all over the English speaking world. I will throw a party the day they go belly up and will do anything I can to help that happen. There are many reputable studios out there. Maybe when their bottom line shows that we are not sheeple the will pull their heads out of their asses.

    I wrote them saying that I have purchased digital copies in the past and have never had this much trouble redeeming them and that I would like to get what I paid for. In less than a half hour I had a scripted response saying that there are some technical issues, and that they would like to send me an itunes redemption code. I had to verify my original redemption code by responding to the email, and am now waiting to see when my itunes code will arrive.

    Hope this helps all the other frustrated purchasers!

    Update: As soon as I posted, I received my itunes code, downloading now! :)

    • Thank you for the link. I just posted my own support ticket. Still it doesn't say on the outside of the box at all that this is a flixster only digital download. All it says is that you can also stream on flixster. I open the package thinking hey they just added it as an option. I figured just like normal I can download to iTunes and not worry about it so my husband can watch it in the sleeper of his truck in his down time because he can't get wifi in some places, but of course I get smacked in the face with the flixster address and no way to do iTunes which is the whole reason for the digital copy. If there ever is a class action lawsuit count me in!!

    Thanks, Stefanie, for the directions. On the "Submit a Ticket" page, I chose "Offer Redemption" as my Issue Type; it then required me to enter my digital copy redemption code, so it went in with my original support request.

    I was polite but firm in my demand for an iTunes redemption code. Twenty-two minutes after entering my request, UltraViolet replied by email and included an iTunes redemption code. I redeemed it in the iTunes Store and downloaded my movie. For now I am a happy camper, but I'll be keeping a sharp eye out to make sure I don't buy a Flixster/UltraViolet digital copy ever again.

I was able to watch my movie through the app on my iPod, but now it is LOST(!!!) and it's telling me to activate my account and even that's not working. A digital copy would have been SO much easier to deal with. I have been furious with flixster for the past week :P

    this is the worst idea. Why can't we just download from the app itself, instead of having to login through their website, search for the picture of the damn movie by scrolling through a friggen library of movies, type in the code, select what you want to do with it, open the app, and then wait for-fucking-ever for the damn thing to download. But it doesn't stop there. They have a "new" flixster app. Not Flixster Collections, but Flixster. Now I have to download the movies.......AGAIN! Why can't I just drag my Flixster Collections movies folder to my new Flixster folder? And since we can only download the movie 5 times, has this taken up 2 of my downloads? Is it taking up more space on my hard drive since I'm downloading the movie twice?

    I got Amazing Spiderman for Christmas on BluRay which the UV Digital Copy (loose term of the words really) and i have to register with Sony Pictures as well now to get my movie!!!!

    If this is how the industry plans to crack down on pirate movies they are well and truly fucking it up!!!! As much as i don't want to, i'll rip my films with Handbrake and other tools, serve it to my Apple TV, put it on my iPad and have a copy on my iMac........oh hold on, just like Digital Copies used to let me do via iTunes.
