allow resizing thumbnails to be as large as in previous version

I liked the old format with the large one-per-page thumbnails much better. This new version is a major downgrade. Way too busy on a phone. If you are going to optimize for tablets, wait for tablet version!

    Hi guys,
Thanks so much for the feedback. We initially changed the design because of feedback saying the smaller headlines were too hard to read. Besides the single size tile layout, do you like the functionality of Flud 2.0? Are you using the social features?

    Thanks for Fluding!

Erica -- I've stopped using the app entirely now that the format has changed.

I'm a little confused. The old format had larger icons (but it may have had smaller text; I don't recall). People complained because things were too small in the large format? In this new format, I see five headlines on one screen, and four of them are truncated so I can't read them, and each of those four are word-wrapped so they cover the entire thumbnail.

In the old version, I saw a single headline on each screen, and I could read it in its entirety. Moreover, the single headline had a nice big beautiful thumbnail in the background that was not obscured by the headline. I could swipe up and down to move from story to story, and I could swipe left and right to move from channel to channel. It was intuitive! If I was finished with a story, I could just swipe vertically to get the next one. However, NOW I have to remember which of the five I see I was actually reading (and that's not helpful when the headlines are clipped!).

[ I also notice that the new version doesn't seem to remember my login very long (but that's a separate issue). It's a real pain to have to login every time I want to get some news.... ]

Here's a screenshot of the unreadable mess that is the new Flud app (on an HTC Rezound, which has a 720p display (i.e., lots of pixels, and yet still a cluttered mess inside Flud!)).

    • In the old version, I would just see the "What to Do When a Potential..." with a thumbnail as big as the screen. If I swiped vertically, I'd see the other stories in a similarly sized large thumbnail (with all the text showing).

Now I get a bunch of tiny thumbnails where the images are not clear and the text is truncated. All bad.

Oh wow, it looks like your phone is picking up the tablet view. We'll have a fix for you ASAP. So sorry about this! Thanks for the screenshot, that really helped :)
