Add an "I'm Away" setting that temporarily disables Fotomoto

Posted on behalf of a seller that uses Fotomoto...

Make available an "I'm away" setting that temporarily disables Fotomoto on my site when I'm not around to fulfill image files for print orders.

I know that Auto Pickup would be a great solution for this, but it's not an option for me because I don't post-process all of my images...just the ones that go to print.

    Additional comments from the seller...

    If you disable the site even temporarily the buyer may not come back. So a better alternative would be for Fotomoto to post on the Fotomoto ordering pop-up screen (on the seller’s site) a message that says something like: "The photo vender at this web site, [seller name], is going to be away from his/her work station from [date] to [date]. You can order at any time but please be advised that your order will not be filled until after [seller name] returns."

    For example another company puts an announcement similar to this on their web site every Sabbath (Friday evening to Saturday evening) and for special holidays.

  • I setup a second "site" in fotomoto that my site switches between every Friday evening before sundown till just after sundown Saturday. I could send you the php snippet that I created to do this. On Sabbath I only have the e-card option visible for everywhere on the site. A simple script similar to mine could be used to turn off fotomoto completely on specific dates.

    script follows...

    	$fotomoto = '<script type="text/javascript" src="http://widget.fotomoto.com/stores/script/YOURUNIQUECODEHERE.js"></script>
    <noscript>If Javascript is disabled browser, to place orders please visit the page where I <a href="http://my.fotomoto.com/store/YOURUNIQUECODEHERE" target="_blank">sell my photos</a>, powered by <a href="http://my.fotomoto.com" target="_blank">Fotomoto</a>.</noscript>';

    $ecardfotomoto = '<script type="text/javascript" src="http://widget.fotomoto.com/stores/script/YOURotherUNIQUECODEHERE.js"></script><noscript>If Javascript is disabled browser, to place orders please visit the page where I <a href="http://my.fotomoto.com/store/YOURotherUNIQUECODEHERE" target="_blank">sell my photos</a>, powered by <a href="http://my.fotomoto.com/" target="_blank">Fotomoto</a>.</noscript>';

    #it does two tests, one for friday evening and one for saturday evening
    #if neither fits it puts the regular script in place.

    $sunfri = array("","1600","1700","1730","1900","2000","2000","2000","2000","1830","1730","1600","1600");

    $friset = $sunfri[date('n')];
    $satset = $sunsat[date('n')];

    $fotomoto = $ecardfotomoto;

    } else {
    $fotomoto = $fotomoto;
