BUY Button Does Not Work in Safari 5.1.7

The buy button appears in Safari, but it does nothing. It activates as a link but does not show the popup icon nor does it open the Fotomoto interface. I am having no problems with FireFox 14.0.1

    Hi Will,

Could you try "purging" the images that you've removed from your Dashboard as explained in How to remove images from your Dashboard to see if that solves the issue?

If not just let us know. You might want to just send us an email as there doesn't appear to be a global issue with Fotomoto + Safari, rather this appears to be specific to your implementation using the API.

    Thanks and kind regards,
    Derek

    Hi Will,

OK, I was able to take another quick look at your page. The issue is not that you had a removed image. I see two JavaScript errors on the page, and one is an unexpected comment closing on line 297. This may be causing the other error, which is "Can't find variable: showMenu" at line 156.

By the way, I see you're using the API - is that just so you can have the menu appear onmouseover...or? It's much easier to use "automatic" mode (not API), and if you need to position the Buy Buttons, see Customizing the Buy Buttons for solutions.

I'm going to try and do what I can to help you here, but please note that we typically don't provide support for individual site implementations of the API.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

    Thank you Derek.

I found the errant closing comment and it fixed the problem with the FOTOMOTO interface not showing up.

I am using the API as it was much easier and more consistent in placement of the BUY button using CSS. Using the automatic function was inconsistent and would require CSS for each individual image. If all the images were of same size and orientation, i image the autoplace would be a n option. It simply does not work efficiently for this particular layout.

    Thank you again!

You're very welcome Will and glad we have it figured out!

As for the API, you're welcomed of course to use it, but FYI you can place the Buy Buttons in a specific DIV in "automatic" mode, following the instructions here:
    http://support.fotomoto.com/customer/...
(linked to in the Customizing the Buy Buttons article).

Whatever works though is great =)

Kind regards and we hope you enjoy using Fotomoto,
    Derek
