Buy buttons not appearing when on image file page

I have installed Fotomoto and configured it as the instructions show.

I am trying to create a gallery where a customer can click an image, it'll open a new tab with the full res image and under it will be the buy buttons. So far I can't get it to work. If I insert a gallery and set the link to the file, it'll open the full image in a new tab but there are no buy buttons there.
On the other hand;
If I insert the images into the page (large) I will get buy buttons but then my fotomoto store is showing the images are only 1024px wide (instead of 4,000px) which is too small for large prints.
To see the problem: Gallery at bottom of page.

  • Hi Sasha,

First off, I love the image you have on your page at http://sashajuliard.com/bw-prints/ !

Now, when I go to that page I see a large version of the image with the Fotomoto Buy Buttons under it - looks great other than one thing - if I click Buy Print, our shopping cart Widget opens with the message "We cannot determine the pricing for this image at this time. Please try again later.". Here's an article that describes why you'd see that error: http://support.fotomoto.com/customer/...

After looking at your Dashboard, I can see that this is probably because the image is a wide aspect ratio but you haven't enabled the "Panoramic" print sizes. So to fix this:

    1. Log in to your Dashboard and click the Store tab
    2. Click the "For Sale" collection on the left
    3. Click the "Print" product icon, then click the "Pano Sizes" tab under the "Product Pricing" heading, and set your print prices + enable the checkbox next to each size.

That will get Fotomoto working for this image, and if you're still having trouble with clicking thumbnails to get to the large view, feel free to let me know, but most likely there's just a problem with your lightbox configuration.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • Hello Derek,

Thank you for responding so quickly. If you like the pictures, they will be available for prints soon ;p

OK so the pano issue solved the "we cannot determine..." problem. My main issue, however, still stands. I can display larger images(1024px) one by one and have the print buttons below them but that is not really what I was hoping for because:

    1) I have an event coming up where I will be uploading over 500 pictures. I don't want to do it one by one.
    2) The max display of those images are resized to 1024px wide, too small to make large prints out of.

At the bottom of that page I uploaded a gallery (using the exact same images) I changed the settings of the gallery to open image file in new tab. When a pictures is clicked you get a new tab with the full resolution image ~16MP. However, for some reason, there is no buy button below the full sized pictures. Any ideas?

    Thank you,
    Sasha

  • Hi Sasha,

You're very welcome for the reply, and indeed it looks like your prints are now available =)

I looked at the bottom of your page and can see what you mean now. You're using WordPress I see, and the issue is likely that the thumbnails in your gallery aren't set up to link to an "attachment" page. Check out the "Image Link" sub-section of the (first) Step #5 at Inserting Images into Posts and Pages. Once you have set the thumbnails to link to an attachment page, the attachment page should dynamically be generated via WordPress, and you should be all set. If not, let me know and I'll try to assist as I can, but that part is really a function of WordPress.

Hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek
