Buy buttons only show between images in slideshow

I'm using the photo workshop theme from graphpaperpress on my portfolio site I'm making. I installed the fotomoto plugin and the buy button is only showing between images in the slideshows and not when the image itself is displayed.

Anyone out there know what may cause this and how I can fix it? The site in question is www.vinikour.com

    Hi Mike,

    Great photos on your site!

Unfortunately the slideshow that you're using isn't one that currently works with Fotomoto. For a list of which libraries are compatible please see What scripts, libraries and plugins does Fotomoto support?.

To replicate what you've got set up, I'd suggest using the Galleria library with thumbnails disabled.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • Sadly that doesn't help me. I'm not switching themes especially after paying for the theme I'm using. Unfortunately it seems I won't be able to use your service and will have to seek out another similar solution that will work with my theme.

    Hi Mike,

I'm not sure you'd need to switch themes here, rather maybe just switch the gallery that it uses? I know graphpaperpress also has a plugin for Galleria - you might want to check their documentation or ask them if you can use Galleria in your theme.

FYI, the issue is that our JavaScript just can't detect which is the current image so that the correct Buy Button links can be inserted. We only have built-in support for the libraries I mentioned, but the developer of whichever gallery library you're using could also address this and we'd be happy to assist them as needed.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • Sadly they weren't of much help. Other than telling me to switch themes and that they aren't familiar with your plugin that was all they said. It was basically "well it doesnt' sound like you can have both that theme and that plugin". Considering all the time I spent making that theme to look exactly how I wanted it to and that it cost me money it looks like I'm out of luck getting your service to work with my site :(

I was hoping to use your service because of the fact you have a plan that doesn't charge a monthly fee that I currently can't afford.

    Hi Mike,

Well thanks for contacting them. I'm surprised to hear that someone responded that they weren't familiar with our plugin, but I'm not sure who you spoke to there.

I'd love to see you be able to use our service, but at this time I can't promise that we'll be updating our support for any other gallery plugins. What I can say is that with a bit of work within WordPress, you should be able to install a plugin that uses the Galleria library, and set your gallery up to use Galleria instead. I am suggesting Galleria because it can be configured to act as a slideshow, which could look very similar to the gallery you're using now.

We have tested the Galleria Galleria plugin and it works nicely, there is also the Photo Galleria plugin which we don't officially support yet, but it should work as well. Note that Photo Galleria is also developed by the Graph Paper Press team, so I would hope that they might be able to provide some support on using it.

I think that's about the best I can offer at this point, but if there's anything else Fotomoto that I can do to assist you please don't hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards,
    Derek

  • I'm not sure what the gallery setup is for that theme. The slideshows on my site are set up as pages (not posts) and that theme has page templates to choose from and there's a slideshow one I use for the slideshows. There's no separate slideshow plugin installed that it is using. Thanks for all the prompt replies but sadly it looks like I'm out of luck.

    Hi Mike,

What you've got set up makes sense - you have a gallery (powered by something other than Galleria) inserted in to your page.

What you'd need to do is:

    1. install the Galleria plugin
    2. Set your Script Library to Galleria
    3. Remove the gallery slideshow you have inserted into your page, and insert a different gallery that's powered by Galleria.

I'm sorry that I don't have specific instructions for you on how to do that, so my best suggestion would be to create a test page on your site that you can mess with, and see if you can get it to work following the relevant documentation. As mentioned, Graph Paper Press might be able to help with support since the theme and the Photo Galleria plugin are both their products. We can help you with the Fotomoto part if needed.

Last thing here - Galleria by default will show a thumbnail carousel, which is cool in my opinion, but you can use Galleria options to hide the carousel if desired and also set Galleria to autoplay (like slideshow), and you should end up with a very similar presentation to what you have now, but you'll also have Fotomoto working.

Again I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek
