Cannot connect to FTP with autopickup. I want to use my 3DCart shopping cart FTP storage.

If my FTP site requires An FTP over SSL (FTPS) client to connect, will I be able to use it with autopickup. I know the ftp settings for my site and have been able to connect with Filezilla, but I'm unable to get autopickup to work. In Filezilla, I have to use the "Require explicit FTP over TLS" encryption setting. HELP!

    Hi Robert,

We support the FTP and SFTP protocols for Auto Pickup. If you're not able to get Auto Pickup working, I'd suggest checking out the Troubleshooting Auto Pickup article if you haven't already.

If you're still stuck after that, (and you're a Pro or Pro Plus subscriber), just email us and we'll be happy to take a look for you.

    Thanks and kind regards,
    Derek

    Derek,

I've read all your materials and they have been mostly unhelpful. I'm working with someone from support finally, but I was hoping my posts would get me some help from the people who have actually used the system and made it work. I'm glad I am a Pro Plus subscriber and can email my question because you Fotomoto support people don't do much more about answering questions about autopickup on the forum here than suggest that users read the article. I have been in IT and a programmer for 20+ years and I do understand that a lot of users don't look at the basic resources before they ask a question, but I did and I'm very frustrated.

Related to my question above, I was hoping if someone could tell me if your system would work with an FTPS site that requires explicit FTP over TLS encryption.

But I gave up on trying to upload my files to the backend of my 3dcart store and I created my own FTP server on my own network to reduce the uncontrolled variables. In autopickup, I used the test button and your system claims to be able to log on to my FTP server and find the right directory, but later when I go to a specific file, it can't find it, despite the lookup patterns being derived directly from your helper utility. Even when an identical file is placed on the website, the FTP and I use the pattern utility to establish the lookup pattern for an exact match file, it does not work.

Has anyone else experienced this? How does one make this work?

    Hi Robert,

Thanks for the reply. Sorry if the support materials were unhelpful - we're always looking to improve them, so if you have any constructive feedback please do let us know.

As mentioned, we only provide Auto Pickup support for FTP, SFTP, and the other protocols/services listed here. Feel free to poll the community to see if anyone else has experience with FTPS site that requires explicit FTP over TLS encryption...I don't know that anyone here has tried it.

I've responded to your support email about why FTP is not working with your setup...we'll work with the particulars via that channel, and post a public update if there is anything relevant to share. FYI, we have not been able to replicate the issue you're having from a test account, and we've heard no other reports of this happening, so I'm guessing there is something unique about your setup.

Talk to you over email and kind regards,
    Derek
