I’m frustrated

DeepFocus inconsistency

I am using Elegant Themes 'Deep Focus' theme as recommended as being compatible with FotoMoto. There seems to be some debate over whether this theme is using Fancybox or Prettyphoto. Either way, I cannot seem to get any consistency with the script;

If I set the Store settings to Fancybox, then the only time I get a FotoMoto toolbar is when I view the image in lightbox mode and it's not very clear, as the bar remains at the bottom of the page and you have to scroll down slightly to see it. Also the bar is not central as the 'Send Free eCard apprear over in the bottom right corner of the screen.

If I set the Store settings to PrettyPhoto as I have now, I get a much more tidy FotoMoto toolbar appear fitting exactly under the image, but only on the post page, not in the lightbox mode

neither display any fotomoto options on the Portfolio template page at all.

My URL is: www.marcusmonaghan.com

Any suggestions?

    Hi Marcus,

    Thanks for your question and sorry for any confusion here.

    The place to start here is to decide where you want the Buy Buttons to be - if you want them to appear under the image and not in the FancyBox "lightbox" view, then I'd suggest you select "None, I'm not using any script or template." for the Script Library setting. I set this as the option for you so that's the current state of your page.

    If you prefer the Buy Buttons in the FancyBox view, then select FancyBox (note your page isn't using prettyPhoto). The problem with this was that you had added some custom CSS to your Dashboard and it was over-writing the correct CSS positioning. I went ahead and fixed that for you. Also, if you want the Buy Buttons to look a bit nicer, with white link text and a black background, here's the CSS you can use:

    /* Default styling from Fotomoto */
    .FotomotoToolbarClass a,
    .FotomotoToolbarClass a:link,
    .FotomotoToolbarClass a:visited,
    .FotomotoToolbarClass a:active,
    .FotomotoToolbarClass a:hover {
    color: #FFF !important;
    }

    .FotomotoSeparator{
    margin: 0 4px !important;
    }

    .FotomotoToolbarClass{
    text-align:left !important;
    }
    .FotomotoToolbarClass {background-color: #000 !important;}

    I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • Thank you so much Derek!

    I am trying to switch to FancyBox mode to see how that looks. When I select FancyBox on the drop down menu on the store settings page, then refresh my website and click an image to view, I don't see any fotomoto presence at all. What am I forgetting?

    On a separate note: I am aware that I will need to lighten images that have been ordered for printing because you do not lighten them automatically. Can you give me a rule of thumb as to how much they should be lightened, and by what method? I use LightRoom.

    Thank you for your help

    Hi Marcus,

    I just tested switching your Script Library setting to FancyBox and everything seemed to work as expected. I've switched the setting back now to where you had it, but when you try it again, make the change in our Dashboard, then make sure you clear your browser cache and re-load the page when testing it out. You should see the Buy Buttons above the image after that.

    As for lightening, there is no prescribed amount of lightening that I could recommend - what I'd suggest you do is run a few test prints (at cost) on a few different images to make sure that you are happy with output.

    I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • I think I will keep it this way. Looks much better and will be easier for people to browse and buy multiple images.

    Thank you so much Derek
