enable gzip compression?

i ran an "audit" (using the advanced audit tools of the Chrome browser - which i recommand highly), and one of the audit item was:

fotomoto-min.js could save ~177.33KB (by enabling gzip compression)

That's quite a lot of data...

so my question is: have you considered enabling gzip compression on your server? (it works very well for scripts - and you can configure it so that gzip compression is not done on some files like jpg images).

i recently realized that i had not enabled gzip compression myself on my own server, and i observed noticeably improved page-load-time performances after enabling it...
