File download pricing confuses my clients -- need to add the words "per file" to the menu

I've had several cases where my clients don't understand the pricing structure for digital downloads.

I believe this is because nowhere in the pricing dialog box appear the words "per file." This causes misunderstandings which include:

* clients expect a much lower price per-file than they see at checkout

* clients look for some way to order multiple files at once, in a "package"

I believe there is an easy fix here: just add the words "per file" to the pricing menu.

  • Derek,

I can't point with certainty to a single place where confusion is being created.

I expect most of the problem lies with the widget above, as that is the only page seen during the ordering experience where download pricing is explained.

I think the issue might be easily addressed by simply adding some words to the widget, e.g.,

  • Hi Tony,

Thanks for the response. We're keen to know what challenges customers have using our product as we want to make Fotomoto the best it can be as much of the time as possible.

You mentioned that they're looking for a way to select multiple photos at once and our product team is aware of this limitation, but clients expecting a much lower price per-file than they see at checkout is a new one and we will take this under advisement and look in to a solution. I can't promise a timeline for either resolution, but thanks for bringing them to our attention.

If you have any other specific feedback from customers, please feel free to send the comments to us directly via email.

    Thanks again and kind regards,
    Derek

  • Derek,

I have not had any clients ask for a means to make multiple selections simultaneously. I have had a client misunderstand the download pricing menu to infer that some multiple-file package was being offered.

The issue with clients expecting a much lower price per file than they see at checkout was a consequence of their not understanding the download pricing menu. They interpreted the menu to mean that in return for the price indicated, they would get a batch of files, not a single file.

I believe both these issues can be fixed quickly and easily by a minor modification of the wording in the widget, per my illustration above.
