Fotomoto and Pixelgrade wordpress theme

Hi,
Has anyone had success in having their 'Buy' buttons added to a Pixelgrade theme?
I have been told by the theme developers that Fotomoto is not compatible, however, the buttons do happen to appear in my galleries. The only issue, the buttons will only appear when the page is refreshed.
The issue is a bit half/half on who to contact for help on this one. I also cannot find details on what javascript is used by the theme, so, I have selected the 'I don't know' option.

Cheers
James

    Hi James,

Thanks for the post and the question. In general, Fotomoto will work on any web page, but it's only compatible with certain image gallery libraries. So, it's really more about the library being used than it is about the theme. In fact, you can make Fotomoto work on almost any theme if you don't use the built-in galleries and just stick to putting images directly on the pages. For more on this subject please see Fotomoto compatibility with WordPress themes.

That said, I'm not familiar with Pixelgrade themes, but after doing a quick search for their product it looks like they have several themes. Could you let me know which in particular you're considering, and send the URL of a page that uses the library you like? I'll be happy to take a look and let you know if it's compatible.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • Hi Derek,
Thanks for taking the time to reply and look into this. It is much appreciated! Now I have a better understanding of what is going on.
The Pixelgrade theme I am running is 'Border'. Here is a link to the actually gallery I am attempting to add the Fotomoto features to, https://pixelgrade.com/demos/border/g....
If all else fails regarding compatibility, I will contact the developers and see if they are interested in including Fotomoto in their galleries.

Thanks again for your assistance Derek.

    Cheers

    Hi James,

Thanks for the link. That gallery is using the Magnific Popup library, which is currently not one we support, but we've had a number of people trying to use it with Fotomoto, so I'll see what we can do to start supporting it.

For now the only option I can suggest is to use the grid on the front end, but then have each thumbnail link off to a separate page where the image is shown not in a library, rather directly on the page. This can usually be done in WordPress by linking to an "attachment" page as explained here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Inserting...

The other option would be to use one of the other libraries/plugins that Fotomoto supports instead of Magnific Popup for now. The list of those supported is here.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • Hi Derek,

All very helpful info. That might have to be the go to option for the moment, but it would be great to see if it does become compatible with Magnific Popup library.

Thank you for all your help, Derek.

    Cheers

You're very welcome James. I have set up a test site for the Magnific Popup library and will be passing it to our engineering team for their review to see if we can start supporting it. I can't promise a timeline on this, but when I have definitive word I'll go ahead and post any updates here.

    Thanks again and kind regards,
    Derek

You're very welcome James. The test site is in the hands of our engineering team, and while they have a large number of things on their to-do list, I'm hoping it won't be more than a few weeks before we have an idea of whether we can support Magnific Popup on our end. I don't anticipate it being an issue, but I'll definitely keep you posted via the thread here.

      Thanks again and kind regards,
      Derek

    Hi James,

I've got some good news - we now officially support the Magnific Popup library - you just need to select it in the Script Library drop-down menu as shown in How do I use Fotomoto with a custom Javascript library.

If you haven't purchased your theme yet, you'll want to confirm with the developers before you buy that it does indeed use Magnific Popup. If so you should be all set.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

    Hi Derek,

This is great news! Thank you so much for having this arranged.
I must say, this is the best customer service I have ever experienced.
Great help from yourself and the Fotomoto team, and going to the length of having this arranged upon my request. I appreciate it all.

    Cheers
