Fotomoto change the position on my navigation bar

I have a problem with the position on my logo and navigation bar on the site I have put fotomoto on. They are further down on my site, than on the rest of my website: See here:http://angelinaowino.com/Prints.html
I can ́t in any way figure out where the problem is.
I have tried to put the coding here, but i is not showing in the final mail, so please see the css for coding yourself.

  • Hi Angelina,

I just took a look at your site and temporarily disabled the Fotomoto Buy Buttons but didn't see any change in the position of your logo, so I am guessing the issue you mentioned isn't related to Fotomoto. You could try removing our Script from your source code to verify this.

I did see our Buy Buttons on your site though, under the image on your home page, so Fotomoto is installed and working as expected.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • Hi Derek

It was a good idea you had about trying to remove the scripts. I did and when I did my logo and navigation bar went back to normal, just like on my other sites.

So it is for sure something with fotomoto. Probadly in the positioning - I think. I have tried to change the positioning without any luck - maybe I am missing something.
    Any advise?

  • Hi Angelina,

I took a look at your site and think there may be some errors in your code that could be causing this. See http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose...

My advise would be to try validating your code and resolving any issues first, as Fotomoto should not (on its own) change your layout in such a way.

If you've validated your code and are still having issues, just let us know and I'll be happy to take another look.

    Kind regards,
    Derek

  • Hi again Derek
I just clean up in my coding - thank you for reminding me of validator. There are still some errors - one in fotomoto scribt - the one I got from you. The rest of the errors, I can ́t see anything wrong with.

So I still don ́t know what the problem is.

  • Hi Angelina,

I took a look and am still seeing two body closing tags on your site - could you try fixing that as well?

    Thanks,
    Derek

  • Hi Angelina,

I've spent a good amount of time going through your code, and am still a bit confused about what's happening here, but could you try:

    1. Moving the Fotomoto Script to just above the body closing tag as shown in How do I install Fotomoto on generic HTML Sites?

    2. Removing the FotomotoToolbar DIV that you appear to be using to place the Buy Buttons manually. In this case our Script should find the image and place the Buy Buttons where they belong without using the DIV. Also, just FYI on using the DIV, it should be placed as explained in How do I manually place the Buy Button toolbar on my page?; your image should not be within the DIV.

Give that a try and hopefully it will work!

    Kind regards,
    Derek

  • I derek
I have also spend a lot on time on this cause I can ́t figure out what is wrong.
good things is that i now got the logo and navigationbar back where it should be, bad thing is that the "Buy print" bar is now floating on top of the navigation bar.
If i insert after my div with the picture, the "buy print" bar will be over the picture and the logo/navigatin will go down again.
It time I will of course like to have more than one image for sale on this site. The one image is just why I am trying to get it to work.

how it is now is better than what we started out with.. but it is still not good

  • Hi Angelina,

OK, so I think we've solved the issue of why your header was moved, which was the main one.

As for the Buy Buttons going under the image, you might want to try inserting the FotomotoToolbar DIV manually as shown in How do I manually place the Buy Button toolbar on my page?. Since your DIV with the class "picture" is absolutely-positioned, you'll want to put the FotomotoToolbar DIV inside of that div underneath the IMG, maybe with a break after the IMG. Also make sure your "picture" DIV is wide enough to accommodate the Buy Button toolbar.

If that doesn't work, unfortunately I'm going to have to let you figure out the CSS on your own as we can't provide CSS coding support for individual sites. All of the information we offer about this is in Customizing the Buy Buttons. I think you've almost got it though, and maybe with a little help from a web designer you'll get the Buy Buttons just where you want them.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek
