I’m frustrated.

FotoMoto Integration with Thickbox

I've installed the WP plugin and Fotomoto works great with my images displayed via Thickbox. However, if the image caption is over two lines, the close button in Thickbox drops down to a new line, pushing the Fotomoto buttons down to another new line, making the Thickbox window huge and sometimes pushing it out of view.

I've edited the Thickbox CSS and tried to fix this but all I've gotten so far is causing the Thickbox nav links and Fotomoto buttons to overlap in the second line. This may be a problem more with Thickbox than Fotomoto but I thought someone here might have run into the same problem. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Hi David,

    I took a look at your images in the Thickbox on Mac Safari and Firefox browsers and it looks pretty good from here (see below).

    Note if you want to customize our Buy Buttons, you can - see the full instructions here. Also, maybe one of our Buy Button Customization Examples might help - for example, you could increase the space above the buy buttons using this example from the article:

    .FotomotoToolbarClass {
    margin-top: 8px !important; /* move 8 pixels down */
    }

    Hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • I’m frustrated
    Derek,
    Thanks for getting back to me. The buttons show up exactly where I want them too on images with only one line of description. However, when the image has more than one line of description, that's when the problems occur. For example:

    Also, I've checked out the Buy Button Customization you linked above and have tried that line of code. It doesn't do anything to affect my installation, even with the !important tag in the line of code. I've tried a whole range of values and it doesn't move the buttons at all. There appears to be some conflict between the CSS/JS for Thickbox and the code for FotoMoto.

    I wouldn't consider this solved, either, not sure why it was marked that way?

  • Hi David,

    Sorry - I was thinking the CSS example would resolve this, but I wasn't looking at a sample with a 2-line description - I changed the status back to 'in progress'. By the way, I did check the provided sample code, and it did move the buy button toolbar down...not sure what happened when you tried.

    As for a fix, you are correct that this is a CSS issue, but note the CSS could be coming from other places (your theme for example - see this page), so before we can say this is a Fotomoto+Thickbox issue, we'll have to test on a page with only Thickbox and Fotomoto installed. This is something I'll try to do as soon as possible, unless you beat us to it =)

    Otherwise note that *we* can't provide CSS support for individual installations, especially for a theme not listed here, so you've done the right thing by posting here - depending on the outcome of the above you might also want to approach a web designer or someone else who is versed in CSS, as the issue should be quite fixable.

    I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • I’m confident
    Huh. I'll have to give the code a try for moving the toolbar up and down. Didn't change anything for me, but I'm sure the code is fine.

    I'll see if I can give the Thickbox+Fotomoto only a try on a separate page tonight. I'd be interested to see if that's the problem. I'll be sure to post here when I have results from that. I totally understand you guys don't provide support for every installation. I wasn't necessarily looking for a definite fix for this, more just to get the information and the attempts out in a community in case anyone else runs across a similar problem or something. I certainly appreciate all your help.

  • Hi David,

    I just took another look at your site and it looks like you might have switched over to Lightbox - is that the case? Just let me know if you'd like us to check further in to the Thickbox spacing issue.

    Thanks and kind regards,
    Derek
