Framed Photos - Automatic fulfill only?

I am going through the new store setup options as a Pro user and found the frame option. However, it stipulates this only works with auto fulfillment. I also do not see any matted but unframed options. I was really hoping to offer matted and/or framed prints with the new self-fulfill option so that I could order the print through Bay, sign it and then ship it to the customer. Can you help me understand how to make this work?
Thanks

    Hi Eyal,

Thanks for the message and let me provide some clarification here.

First yes - we offer the framing option to Pro and Pro Plus subscribers, and this would only be if we fulfill the order. If we don't fulfill the order, it's basically up to you to handle all of the printing, framing and shipping, so we wouldn't be doing the framing in this case.

I think the piece that's not in place here is the ability to define a "custom" product in the Dashboard, which is something we don't fulfill, like matted, laminated or custom framed prints. There is currently no way to define custom products in the Dashboard, but this is on our to-do list...I just can't say yet when it will happen.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • Why is that Derek?

Why can't Framing be a self fulfilled option?

That was one of the best parts of moving to the new system - the opportunity to take orders for framed prints. Order them from Bay, sign and frame them up. It seems like it would be pretty trivial to set this up for self-fulfill.

If anything, I wonder why canvas prints ARE offered with either option when they (IMO) should just be auto filled by the lab.
