Has anyone tried to use Fotomoto with Wordpress plugin Envira Gallery? Any compatibility issues?

I am looking at a few different Wordpress gallery plugins to refresh the look of my portfolios and make them fully responsive. I also want to then implement Fotomoto. I am leaning towards Envira Gallery for the portfolio plugin, but I'm wondering if anyone has already used Envira with Fotomoto? Have you experienced any compatibility issues?

If so, what would you recommend? Is there still a way to make Envira and Fotomoto "play well" together? I have also been considering FooGallery (and it looks like FooBox does play well with Fotomoto.

    Hi Deanna,

Thanks for your post and emails to our support on the subject.

For anyone else reading along, Fotomoto is officially compatible with the scripts, libraries and plugins listed in the What scripts, libraries and plugins does Fotomoto support?, but it may work with other galleries as well, depending on how they are coded.

We have not tested Envira Gallery and can't guarantee that it would work as expected, but we'd be happy to test it to verify, and would be happy to work with their developers to make it compatible if it isn't already. Just so it's mentioned here, Fotomoto can be made to be compatible with any gallery library - our instructions on how to do this are in our Integrating Fotomoto into an image gallery.

We'd also be happy to hear any feedback from people who are using it, so thank you for posting here.

    Kind regards,
    Derek
    • Thanks, Derek. It looks like Envira Gallery is a fairly popular gallery plugin, so I for one would be grateful if you would test it to verify its compatibility with Fotomoto. I will go ahead with downloading it in hopes that all will go smoothly. In the meantime, if you do some testing or others have any comments, I'd love to hear the additional feedback.

  • My web designer has now gotten Fotomoto and Envira turned on and the sample page setup for testing. The gallery looks fine, but she can't see the buttons for Buy Card or Buy Print. She looked at the API info that you sent, but it hasn't been terribly helpful for her to actually get it working. Can you please test Envira Gallery with Fotomoto as you mentioned above ("we'd be happy to test it to verify") or help in any other way to get it working? Looking forward to your response!

    • Hi Derek,

No luck. My designer can't find the email response you sent her. Can you please resend it? Also, I think I will send an email to Support with her email address just in case.

      Thanks,

      Deanna

      Hi Deanna,

Thanks for the post. I just replied to the email you sent on the same subject, and included the reply that I had sent to your designer.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
      Derek

  • Update to those who still have this question: I was not able to get Envira Gallery to work well with Fotomoto, so I ended going with Foobox/Foo Gallery. Everything seems to be going well with this setup.

I did correspond with Envira to let them know that compatibility with Fotomoto is something they should put on their radar, but no idea if this is in the works or not. You might want to reach out to them directly to see if there have been updates since this was several months ago. They seemed to be fairly responsive online/via email.

Hi all, and thank you for the posts!

First thing I want to say here is that Fotomoto can be made to work with any lightbox, but if it's not one we currently support then it will require a fairly simple (for a developer) integration with our API. From what I can see in their demos, it appears that they use a customized library that isn't currently compatible with our service.

Next, we'd love for everyone to be able to use Fotomoto with Envira Gallery, and to that end we'd be happy to work with their team to integrate the two. I've reached out to them directly to see what can be done.

Last, and perhaps most importantly, I read on their site that they may offer their users the option to use Fancybox 3 in the future, which is a library we now support, so hopefully it will be easy to use Fotomoto with Envira before long.

For now, please do consider letting the Envira team know that you'd like to use Fotomoto. Maybe even send them a link to this thread. They're welcome to get in touch with us to figure out the best approach. I think integration with Fotomoto would be a win for everyone involved.

Thanks again and please let us know if we can answer any questions in the meantime!

    Kind regards,
    Derek
