  • Raffaele,

I'm not a Fotomoto employee, but I'll try to answer your question.

To be successful, Fotomoto must have procedures in place -- within their own organization, and with the labs they use for print fulfillment -- to ensure that image files of good quality will get turned into prints of good quality. This must happen consistently, quickly, and at low cost -- which means it must happen in an automated fashion.

So, if you submit good image files -- where "good" means adequate resolution, properly exposed, in focus, accurate colors, etc. -- then you should expect the prints from Fotomoto will be good.

For the great majority of print jobs, I expect no human at Fotomoto does any checking of the files you submit. That would require a large staff, and would increase the cost of doing business.

Fotomoto does have an automated check to ensure the file has enough pixels to support at least 150 dpi for the print size which has been ordered. If the file on Fototomoto's server is below this resolution, you will get an email from Fotomoto requesting either a higher-resolution file be uploaded, or for you to approve printing with the low-resolution file.

I had a couple of cases where I needed Fotomoto staff to check a print order manually. (These were cases where I didn't yet understand how Fotomoto works, so I created some minor printing problems.) In these special cases, I submitted a request though the Help Desk, and the Fotomoto staff checked the print jobs individually.

  • Thank you everyone for all your help.

    Raffaele,
Have you already set up your account? why don't you try a test order for one of your own photos?
