I’m undecided

Implementation, Wordpress, Custom Theme, Manual Insert Help

I thought I would give this one more try before moving on. My site is http://fidoloves.com

With the fotomoto plugin and pretty photo enabled, The light box looks fine, colors could be adjusted. However, due to the size of my images on the actually pages the buttons show in the borders of my front page slideshow (which i don't want)

The buy links also show below my images on my single pages which I want, but are breaking the borders and it looks poor. How do I resolve these issues?

I have looked through the scattered instructions and tried my best. I thought I would ask as a last ditch effort. I will leave it broken looking for the day...

Thank you,

Jay

    Hi Jay,

    Thanks for your post.

If you don't want the buy buttons to appear under certain images (like your home page slideshow), you have a few choices on how to disable them. Please see this article on 'How do I exclude a photo from my store?'. In this case, adding the "nofotomoto" Class to your slideshow images might be the best approach, but you could also just move those images to the Not for Sale collection.

Then to address the appearance of the buy buttons, you have full control over their presentation using CSS. Please see
    Customizing the Buy Buttons.

Last, you said you find our instructions to be 'scattered'...we appreciate your feedback and if you have any suggestions on what would make it easier for you, please do let us know. We want Fotomoto to be easy to use, and we do whatever we can to make it that way =)

    Kind regards,
    Derek

  • I think the overall idea of Fotomoto is excellent. I think the approach of you are on your own implementing it costs you a lot of potential clients and is stunting your growth. (in addition to the simplistic view of commercial and advertising licenses).

I just read through three pages trying to track down a solution to adding a script to where I need buttons to show or how to get the css to allow the images to show in the correct space. Personally, I think the instructions are very poorly written. Which is a shame as I would like to use Fotomoto. I would pay a reasonable setup fee.

I was surprised to see that no one from Fotomoto has even clicked into my site to see what issues I am dealing with.

How does it make me feel? Disappointed...

Thanks the feedback Jay - even if it's not all positive, it's still appreciated.

The licensing feature is something that we are planning to revisit at a later time, but the priority for us is not as high as, say, integrating with a print lab in Europe to make shipping costs more reasonable overseas (which we just did). We have several other great new features in progress.

As for the articles, which did you feel was poorly written? How do you think it could be improved? I'd be happy to improve it. As for finding articles, we implemented a search feature that returns results from our Support Center and this Community, plus we try to organize everything well by subject. We'd love to hear how this could be easier for you.

Last, I visited your site personally before responding, so sorry if you thought otherwise.

We really do appreciate constructive feedback here, and I encourage you and others to help us help you enjoy Fotomoto more.

      Kind regards,
      Derek
