Hey guys, I'm just wonderign how you get fotomoto to work with Joomla 3+ has there been any work done, your install guide still only covers version 1.5 and that's long long gone.

thanks

    Hi John,

Thanks for your email. We haven't had many requests for updated Joomla support and haven't updated our install instructions, but I can look in to getting this done. In the meantime, the general process should still be the same - you would just find whichever file contains the HTML end body tag (</body>) and put the Fotomoto Script in just above it as shown in Step 5 of http://support.fotomoto.com/customer/....

If you need a hand with this please do let me know, otherwise I will update the thread here when we've updated the install instructions.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • Hi Derek,

thanks for the reply. I have it working in part now but the gallery I am using allows the images to pop up in a lightbox option and I don't get the options for the store under here. The site is www.johnwattphoto.com/shop

    Hi John,

Congrats on getting the Script installed, and I can see that Fotomoto is working as expected on your site. Here are a few pointers on how to make it work best:

    1. While it might be convenient to have Buy links under your thumbnails, Fotomoto is picking them up as images, and will offer square print sizes to suit, which is probably not what you're after, so I would suggest setting the "Minimum Width..." option to a value that's bigger than the height and width of your thumbnails and Fotomoto will then ignore those images (not put Buy links under them).

    2. I am seeing the Buy links under the larger image as shown in the attached screenshot. I would recommend setting up your gallery so that the image appear that way, but if you prefer to use a lightbox-style gallery you have two options:

    a) Use one of the supported galleries listed at What scripts, libraries and plugins does Fotomoto support? or

    b) With some JavaScript development skills, you could use our API to put the Buy links in to any gallery's library as explained at Integrating Fotomoto into an image gallery.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek
