Labels in settings goes past the available space

Very minor problem with the settings...

On the settings page, where the labels are for buying prints, downloading, etc....
I have fairly long labels, and they go past the end of the space where I can see them on the settings page. It makes it somewhat difficult to see what I'm changing on the one that wraps to the next line. Expanding my browser doesn't make the space longer. Is there a way for me to move in this space, or can the space be proportional to the browser size, or even just made bigger? Or am I missing something really simple that I'm not doing right?

  • Hi David,

My apologies but I'm having a hard time following you on this one - could you clarify for me which area you're talking about? I think you're describing the Buy Button Appearance > Preview section at
http://my.fotomoto.com/stores/appearance, but if that's the case, it's looking fine on my end.

Best yet would be if you could post or send a screenshot, and let us know which OS and browser you're using (including versions please) so we can make sure everything looks as it should.

    Thanks and kind regards,
    Derek

  • Yeah, I was having trouble explaining what I’m seeing...........

    Here’s a screenshot.

Where the preview is for the buttons, you’ll see that “Send ??? eCard” wraps. I THINK it says “Send a FREE eCard”, but I’m not sure because I can’t see
the whole thing. And I can’t figure out how to extend he space. On the website it still says “Send an eCard”, so I apparently didn’t get it changed.
Anyhow, I’m using Firefox 8. Again, this is a really minor issue, so don’t waste a lot of time chasing it around. I can work around it by shortening other labels,
then changing the last one, then increasing the size of the others again...

  • Hi David,

Thank you for the screenshot, and I can see what you're talking about here.

I'll put in a note for our engineering department to see if they can address this from a design standpoint. No promises on when this might happen, but we'll get it 'on the list'.

What you can do for now to see the full label is roll your cursor over the label in the Preview, and a "Change Label" button should appear. If you click the button, it will show the label text and you can change it as desired.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • Yeah, that's what I've been doing. Downside there is the little window that pops up when you hit "Change Label" is really small. It won't hold the whole entry either, so you end up scrolling around to make changes....

I got the one I wanted changed by making other smaller, then changing the one that wrapped, then putting the text back in the others. Like I said, no big deal... If this is the biggest problem I ever run into trying to do e-commerce I'll be real happy!
    • Thanks for the additional feedback David - we do appreciate it! It may be a minor issue, but we do strive to keep our user interface as easy-to-use as possible, so I've already filed the mentioned note to our design team and it's 'on the list' of things to work on, though again I can't promise an ETA on the resolution.

Hopefully it will be the biggest e-commerce problem you run in to! =)

      Kind regards,
      Derek
