I’m frustrated

Problem with weebly site

Hello,

I've almost finished setting up my web site but just noticed I seem not to be able to make images load in my store. I've set my images to go to Not for Sale collection by default, but I can't see them.
Placed the script following your instructions and choosing the 'Lightbox' option.

Probem is, Weebly gives me no index.html page but these instead:

tall-header.html
short-header.html
no-header.html
landing.html

Tried the landing and the no-header but nothing happens. Quite disappointed...

    Hi Sil,

Sorry for any frustration here - it looks like Weebly has added some new Page Layout options, which might be causing the confusion.

I took a look at the HTML source code for your page and didn't see the Fotomoto Script there, so what you'll want to do is select the Page Layout template that you're using for your Photo Gallery, and add the Fotomoto Script there.

See step #4 in our tutorial, and make sure you have the template that your Photo Gallery uses selected on the left, then install the Fotomoto Script as shown. The goal is just to get the Fotomoto Script to show up in the HTML for your page.

Unfortunately I can't check this further or do it for you without access to your Weebly account. If I can help you further somehow, please email us and I'll be glad to assist.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

Hi Derek and thanks for the quick reply.

My problem is I have no gallery page showing up when in the html editor. As I said before, the only pages I can see listed on the left are the following:

    tall-header.html
    short-header.html
    no-header.html
    landing.html

Tried each one of them but with no success.

I've emailed the Weebly support too. Let's see what they have to say...

PS. I've deleted the script for now.

    Regards,

    Sil

    Hi Sil,

This is more of a Weebly thing so I'm not exactly the best one to explain it, but Weebly offers several Page Layouts: short header (short-header.html), etc., that are used to control the presentation of your Photo Gallery page. In the Weebly Editor, you can click Pages, then select your Photo Gallery on the left and you'll see which Layout your Gallery page uses.

Once you've got that figured out, you should be able to add the Fotomoto Script to the Layout as shown in the instructions, and boom - it should work. I'd suggest installing the Fotomoto Script so we can check it, but if you'd prefer to wait and see what Weebly says that's fine too - just let us know how we can help you best here.

    Kind regards,
    Derek

  • I’m frustrated
    Hi Derek,

I've seen from the Pages management area of Weebly I'm using no-headers page layout for every page in my site.

Went to the HTML/CSS editor and pasted the fotomoto script above the tag in my no-header.html page listed on the left, saved and published the site but nothing happens...

The script is there, if you want to check it out.

Could be they're using version 2 of Lightbox in the new themes? I see you support version 1.8.

    All the best,

    Silvia

    Me, again...

Just found out only four images are showing up in my 'Not for Sale' collection. These images are in my homepage slideshow.

Still can't figure out how to 'retrieve' the images in my galleries...

    Hi Silvia,

I took another look at your site and it looks like you now have Fotomoto installed correctly. The images are loading in to your Fotomoto Dashboard as soon as the image is viewed in the Lightbox - note that's what you need to do as explained in this article.

You have Not for Sale set as your "default" collection, so no Buy Buttons are appearing on the images, but if you move them to For Sale you'll see the links appear as expected.

To learn how to set your pricing and availability using Collections, please see this article.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • I’m happy
    Hi Derek,

I was finally able to get my images into fotomoto :) I completely skipped the part about the images being loaded as soon as an image is viewed in the Lightbox - I think you should stress this point more to help other Weebly users. I had to go through my galleries one image at a time and then the images appeared in my fotomoto store.

Thanks so much for your support. Hope things will work fine from now on.

    Regards,

    Silvia

  • Derek, just one more question.

My site address is now http://silviaganoraphotography.weebly.... I'm planning to point my domain name to it so that it will be http://www.silviaganoraphotography.com. Should I have to change the address in my Fotomoto store settings too? Will I have to set up another store?

    Thanks so much!

    Hi Silvia,

Good question! Assuming it's the same website (which it sounds like it is), what you'll need to do is make sure the correct domain(s) are listed in the Site Addresses section of your Fotomoto Dashboard. Here's an article that explains how.

Note you'll want to add both the www and 'non-www' versions.

I took a look at your Dashboard and based on what you said above you'd need to add both of these:

    www.silviaganoraphotography.com
    silviaganoraphotography.com

You'd only use a new store if it were for a different website.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • Hi Derek,
I have a similar problem than Silvia's, and I have read most threads on here related to this problem.

I have set up Weebly as a platform here, and also have set Lightbox in script library (since that is how Weebly displays the pictures).

I also have the following pages under page layout:
    tall-header.html
    short-header.html
    no-header.html
    landing.html

I've started with copying the code in landing, and after nothing happened, and I have read this thread, I copied it before the in all of the above - and still nothing happened.

Automatically add new images to "for sale" is selected too.

Please tell me how can we make it work.
    Kindest Regards:
    Gary
