Script Not Working

Hi,

Set up account, placed standard script (i.e. custom made Website/no script or template) to test on this page : http://www.dannycallcutphotography.co.... The page has been added to the 'Image URL White List'.

But no shopping cart appears...

  • Your URL needs to be in the "Site Addresses" list. The "Image URL White List" is for if you are hosting images from a different source such as... images from your flickr feed or another URL where you store images but don't display them.

Make sure www.dannycallcutphotography.com is in the "Site Addresses" list. To the best of my understanding it does NOT need to be in the White LIst for this use case.

  • Thanks Robert, but the urls of my site (with and without www) are already in the "Site Addresses" list as are the redirects (.co.uk to .com)

According to the info provided when you hover over the '?' under the heading 'Image URL White List', the following applies:

"By default, we assume any image found on your website (regardless of the image URL) is yours and we index it. If you only want us to index images from certain URLs and ignore everything else, you can add your white-listed URLs here."

...which is what I want. At present, I have a couple of images (graphics) being pulled in from other sites with whom I have relationships, so I clearly do not want a BUY button appearing below them! Hence I have added the (at present) only url that I want indexed.

My 'site' is only a testbed for this at present to test the waters. It consists of the homepage and http://www.dannycallcutphotography.co... (the white-listed page). The script has been addded to this page, but I just added it to the homepage too, just in case some script quirk prevented it from working if it wasn't found there too.

    It still doesn't work....

  • One other thing that could be causing the image to not show up is the minimum size setting.

    http://my.fotomoto.com/stores/settings

IF EITHER the height or width is smaller than this then the sales toolbar/cart will not show up on the page. You can change it to any size you wish... I have included a screen shot of mine. I keep it set low for various reasons, panos mainly.

Your image is 600x400px so if the minimum is OVER 400px then it wont work and you will need to lower that value or post larger images.

Robert, thank you for helping out!

losdemas, Robert is correct, and in case you haven't seen it, there's a list of potential reasons why Buy Buttons might be missing at
    http://support.fotomoto.com/customer/...

I checked your site, and Robert is correct on the reason why you're not seeing Buy Buttons - your "Minimum Size..." is set to 600 and the images on your page have dimensions smaller than that.

I hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • Robert - you're a star! That was indeed the problem, Thank you very much for your help.

Derek: thank you for the link. This query was indeed covered there.

I guess I'd better get on and get the site design sorted now!
