I’m confused

Two galleries show. One on top of the other.

The first gallery takes time to load and does not have any "purchase" bar.
Once I close that one, the "purchase" bar shows up. I'm sure that this will be confusing to customers.

I just checked my mobile site, and it only shows one gallery without the "purchase" bar.

    Hi Ty,

Thanks for your post. I'm going to ask one of our engineers to take a look at this for you - the Fotomoto Buy links should be appearing at the top of the page when you first click the image to open it in a lightbox, but it's not, and then when you close the lightbox, it appears. There appears to be some kind of a code conflict on your site making the "layers" appear in the incorrect order (Buy links should be on top).

Also, while we work on that, I wanted to suggest that your page might be loading very slowly because you have high resolution images in your gallery - one that I looked at was 4875x6500, where typically website images are around 1200px in the longer dimension at 72 dpi. Just in case you're thinking that you need to put high resolution images on your site so that we can make ordered prints, you'll want to have a look at the How Fotomoto works on your site... article.

I'll update the thread here as soon as I have word from our engineering department.

    Thanks again and kind regards,
    Derek

  • Since I have to resize all of my images, and I would like to get the site advertised as soon as possible, would it be easier to delete everything and start over from scratch? And, do you think it would also help with the mobile issue?

    Hi Ty,

Personally I wouldn't advertise the site until you've got the images optimized - just because any new visitor will have to wait a long time to load high resolution images, and people are more likely to leave if they have to wait too long. That's just me though =)

As far as re-doing everything, as far as Fotomoto is concerned, you don't need to re-do anything, so no need to start over. As far as your site goes, probably no need to start everything over from scratch. If you want to market sooner than later, you might want to re-do things that people are likely to visit first, then market, then re-do the rest...that's kind of up to you.

Hope that helps and kind regards,
    Derek

  • I’m frustrated
I am so frustrated. I have asked several questions hand had only a couple resolved. I want to use only Bay Photo because I have dealt with them since the mid '80s.
I tried to use the lightbox you recommended, but then I noticed a warning that said it was incompatible with fotomoto so I have deleted it and installed another one. Now my photos do not show on my fotomoto dashboard, and I STILL have no buy buttons on my site either mobile or laptop. I will eventually need to go with the Pro options, but if I can't get it to work, it is not worth it.
Can you please address all of my issues so that I can move on?

    Hi Ty,

Sorry to hear that this is getting frustrating for you; I'm here to help and appreciate your patience while we try to help you here.

First, I've re-read all of your posts above and don't see any questions that I haven't answered. In my post two days ago I said "I'm going to ask one of our engineers to take a look at this for you" because for some reason the lightbox you were using was not working as expected with Fotomoto. They could help us fix that, but if you have changed lightboxes to one that's not compatible with Fotomoto we may not be able to help you.

So, please first make your decision on which of the supported lightboxes you'd like to use, then let me know and I'll be happy to help you get everything working as expected.

If you prefer more private support, i.e., not posting everything in our Community, please fee free to mail me via http://support.fotomoto.com/customer/....

    Thanks again and kind regards,
    Derek
