hi
is it possible to edit the button on the maps interface, e.g. setting display: none to the terrain view changing buttons?

can we use our own css in the map?
i have noticed that each map has its own css file, is it possible to edit it?
best regards

Hi Philipp,

Some really good ideas there, more specifically the adding your own css to the map. In what respect would you want to add css? What were you thinking on changing and we can see if we can build it in without the need for you to add your own css.

As for editing the map css, this is based on the options you can select on step 2 i.e. you can change the colours and photo heights and widths etc on the toolbar below the map. Or do you mean something else?

Thanks,

Colin

hi
e.g. as spoken of above css can be used for hiding the map mode buttons (via display none) and also info boxes, etc can be styled and so on.

is there anotehr way to hide the map mode buttons (satellite view, map view, topography view..)
best regards

Hi Philipp,

It would be very difficult to use css to hide those controls. The HTML wrapping those buttons do not have an ID, and do not have a unique class name. Thus if you did do a

.gmnoprint { display : none; }

you would be affect other parts of the map.

To do this properly would need to be done in the google map javascript code. But it is a nice idea, and if you want it, how many other people would like this option too.

So we won't do it now, but we will add it to the list of options we may add in the future.

Thanks for your ideas,

Colin

Hey Julizz

You will be able to customise your map when you initially create it. If you also created an account you will be able to log back in, and edit your map as desired - most of what you want to change can be changed.

Thanks
