Do you have a live link?

You may need to double check to make sure that you’re image sizes are correct under SETTINGS > MEDIA. The sizes should be:

Thumbnail: 188px × 188px. (cropped)
Medium: 288px × 288px.
Large: 494px × 494px.

After you reset the sizes, install and run the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/r...

Should fix the thumbnails sizes.

I’m not sure what you mean by “no more archives page under the template?” Please clarify.

here is the link: http://www.iamkimji.com/

i've been using autofocuspro version for a while,
so the media settings should be right...
and i did double check.

about the archives page...
on autofocuspro, when you create a new page,
you can choose the page attributes,
such as archives page, link page, etc...
but i don't see i on autofocus 2.0...

Haven't found an answer elsewhere, so I'll second this. Will an update give us back our archive pages?

Yes, I’ll bring that back in an update. That was actually a Template from Thematic.

i checked the thumbnails sized via ftp,
there's no problem,
all thumbnails are 188px × 188px, 288px × 288px, 494px × 494px!

Ok. I think I know what’s causing this. Let me take a look at a few things. Another user experienced a similar issue here: http://gsfn.us/t/2ckj8

Should have this sorted out shortly.

love the new theme. It sounds like I'm having the same problem at http://www.sideviewmirrorproject.com/

The thumbnail sizes are correct and I even regenerated them. It sounds like you have a lead on the problem. thanks. looking forward to a solution.

thanks guys for the compliments about the project. Allen, to be honest, your theme got me to rebuild the project site and start taking pictures again. Hoping you can figure out the current problem so i don't need to re-import all the images. thanks again.

Wow. Glad to have helped you pick up the camera again.

You won’t need to re-import your images, but for now, the suggestion below should do the trick.

Erik,
Yes, the issue is with certain image proportions. If the image proportions make for a too narrow image, the thumbs come out short or too thin. It’s the difference between the height of the images in these two posts of yours:
Correct: http://goo.gl/eRbXl
Too Narrow: http://goo.gl/MYi3v

The quick fix for you now could be to change the Media Settings for Medium images to 388px for both the width and height in the Portfolio layout. Then run the Regenerate thumbnails plugin again.

I’m considering a few other solutions and well post something back here shortly...

Does the Regenerate Thumbnails Plugin affect thumbnails in galleries as well? 'Cause that would be a very much unwanted side effect to keep in mind.

No, the galleries are un-effected. They pull in a different image size.

Love how the theme 'cleaned up' by the way. Great work to make it stand-alone! Hopefully last bits will be fixed soon, as always! ;-)

Hi All,
So a solid solution for this won’t be ready today like I expected. There are two quick fixes that you can apply while I sort it out.

The first is mentioned here: http://goo.gl/w3HhS
This is recommended for users using the Staggered/Default layout.

The second option is for the Grid/Portfolio layout. Go to SETTINGS > MEDIA and change the Medium image settings to: 388px × 388px.

After you reset the sizes, install and run the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin:
http://goo.gl/E4IXz

I’m trying my best to sort this out, and come up with the best possible solution for everyone.

Thanks for your patience.

You need to apply the first fix.
Have you tried that one?

Hi Allan, I updated the file AutoFocus: content-autofocus.php
with af_entry_image('medium'); but the front page pictures are still very very crop, my pictures barely can be seen.
My pictures are pulled from my linked flickr account, so when trying option 2 and regenerate thumbnails it says I do not have pictures.

This is my website: www.spanishhipster.com

COULD you please help me? thanks

Hi jmoran,
Try one of these smaller size:
af_entry_image('thumbnail');
af_entry_image('archive-thumbnail');

For now, I would suggest using one of the quick fixes. I’m still looking into the issue, but irregularly sized images (images that are smaller than a 4:3 ratio) simply don’t play too well with the theme. Because of that, the only fix would require removing the image positioning option for users whose images don’t conform to that size. I’m looking into other ways but the quick fixes are the best solution as of yet.

Dear Allan,

AF+ is the first time I paid $$$ for a theme. It's a wonderful theme and looking troughout all those posts here I already found remarkable pages.

Still, some bugs just don't seem to get better. One of them is the cropping issue on the front page. I tried to resize it (medium to 388) and regenerate my thumbnails. I tried to use the thumbnail editor as AxelYa advised, but nothing happened.

1) I really want to define wich parts to be seen on my frontpage. What can I do now?
2) Why do I have red rims at the sliding section on my frontpage? How can I get rid of them?

My page for reference: http://www.fuerdichimmer.net

Thanks for your help and keep up the good work!

The cropping feature seems to be working on your site. Are you still ahving trouble with it? What are you expecting it to do?

The images in your slider seem to be too small for the theme. You’ll need to upload larger images for those posts.

Hello
Has it been sorted out?
Is there a zoom in/out cropping feature released?
Thank you

Setting medium thumbnails to 388 worked fine. Now they have a bit of breathing room around the edges so I can move them about a bit.

Shame you can't force GIFs to NOT re-size so that they animated in the thumbnail, but whatever. Still looks kick ass!

Thanks.

Experiencing this problem also now...Did generated the medium thumbnails to 388x388 but that did not help. Tried the other solution but I could not find the corresponding code..

Was unable to find these:
af_entry_image('thumbnail');
af_entry_image('archive-thumbnail');

Hi DaVinci,
Depending on where you’re trying to edit the thumbnail size, af_entry_image(); function can be found in:
content-autofocus.php (home page thumbs)
content.php
autofocus-images.php
