Open Golf Parking

I live on Hove Road which does not appear on the list of roads subject to parking restrictions found here:

http://www.fylde.gov.uk/leisure-cultu...

When I download the pdf map on the same page however, it seems that parking is restricted.

I would be grateful if you would confirm which is correct.

My apologies if i have misread the map but the lack of road names makes it difficult to be certain.

Hi Joe,

I am going to speak with our partners (Police and Lancashire County Council) just to clarify the status of Hove Road.

I will update the forum as soon as I have the information you need.

Thanks

Hi Joe,

Hove road isn’t part of the temporary traffic restrictions.

Apologies for the confusion. We have updated the map on-line(http://www.fylde.gov.uk/leisure-cultu....

Thanks for pointing it out

Can I add a related question? Thanks.

Parking on Church Road is restricted during the Open, so a lot of people will be making use of the alleys that run behind our houses to park their cars. These alleys are where we put bins for emptying. Are you making alternative arrangements for collection during this period?

Hello,

We are aiming to run refuse collections as normal during the Open Golf but we are asking residents to present the containers by 6am (on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 July) as we will be running the rounds with early starts to try and avoid any traffic related issues.

However, if your road is subject to closure or temporarily inaccessible your collection may be missed. Although we will make every effort to collect the bins as soon as possible, some may not be collected until Monday 23 July.

Thanks for the reply. Early starts won't make any difference in this situation as residents will have been using the alley for overnight parking. It'll be as busy, if not busier, at 6am.
Why not send someone round to actually have a look at the area and the issue and come up with a workable solution? Locals are already being inconvenienced with the parking restrictions, it would be nice to think the council are doing everything they can to make sure they avoid further disruptions.

Either officially announce that the bins will get collected on the Monday to save confusion and avoid people having to leave their bins out from Thursday to Monday on an already congested backstreet, on the offchance the truck can squeeze along the road, or tell residents that you'll collect as normal but from the front of the houses, on Church Road, which will have no cars at all.

P.S. Do I win a prize for spotting the error? Perhaps a badge or free Council Tax for a year?
