  • Good question! I hope the following explanation is not too technical.

First, the easy part. Gantter does not save to Google Docs when you save local files. Google Docs is used when you explicitly choose to save your files to Google Docs.

Second, regarding the use of our servers. In short, when you save a local file the server saves your file temporary, and after you've finished downloading the file is removed. This saving on the server is caused by technical reasons: the client side part of Gantter which runs in your browser uses JavaScript which itself cannot save local files and thus needs help from the server side.

No data is transferred between the client side and the server side until "save" is clicked. So you can open Gantter, disconnect from the Internet, create your project plan, connect to the Internet and save.

I hope this answers your question.

  • So would it be possible to save the file onto local server instead? What do I need to purchase to be able to do that?
