Changing a plotted point?

  • Question

Can plotted data be changed after the map is made? I made a map, but some of my lat/long were incorrect. When I changed them in the spreadsheet, it was still plotted in the same place, even though the data was different. Any thoughts?

Could you send me the spreadsheets (the original and the corrected) to support@geoiq.com.

Thanks

From what I understand she didn't upload a new spreadsheet but edited the data online.

@Jessica Miller
Correct me, if I am wrong, but: did you edit the dataset? The map is not synced to the dataset, but is produced on demand. Once it is created I don't see a way to edit the data.

Jessica,

Mariano is correct. If you changed the lat longs by editing from the dataset description page, that will not work. You will need to make the changes in the spreadsheet and upload that as a new layer. And then add that new layer to your map in place of the old.

If that is what you already did and it didnt work, please still send me the files.

Thanks and Thanks Mariano,

Emily

Also, if you used the reupload feature from the dataset page, it will change the locations on the map automatically. That way, you dont have to do a new layer.
