Where is the Embed link?

According to the users manual, the first step to embed a map is to: 'click the "Details" button when viewing the map you want to embed. In the now visible "Details" window, you will see a link that says "Want to embed this map into your site?"'

However, when I click the Details button, all I get is a Description tab, which includes a box for "Describe this Map," and a box for "Organize with tabs."

What am I doing wrong? How do I find the "Want to embed this map?" link?

Thank you!

Hi elizabettinger,

Thanks for your inquiry regarding the use of GeoCommons.

To obtain the embed code for the map you have created in Maker! you must save your map and view it in saved mode. The screenshot you have attached is from the edit view of the map.

To get to the saved view of your map, finish creating your map, and click the save button in the top right of the page. Fill out the appropriate details in the details box and click done. You will then see a message appear in the lower right of the screen that says, "When you are finished editing, view the map." Click on the view the map link and you will be taken to the saved version of your map. When you click on the details box here you will be able to obtain an embed code for the map you have just created in Maker!

Thanks again for your question and please let us know if this works or if you need help with anything else.
