“Can only be applied by people with a Management Seat” option for Categories is not working properly

Hi there! I'm Tom from Automatic, and I'm having a problem with the Categories functionality. Despite having turned on the "Can only be applied by people with a Management Seat" option, several of our users have been able to associate their posts with our FAQ Category. I've left them associated for now, so you can check it out.  Here's a screenshot of what I see under the options for Automatic FAQs.

Oof. It turns out you can add these categories via the widget, which was an oversight on our end. Thanks for pointing this out, I'll file a bug for the team.

Hi Stephen. 'm not sure if there's any update on on this bug, but users are still able to select restricted product categories via the widget. Thanks!

Hey Amy! Sorry I don't have a good estimate right now. It's on the backlog, but we've had a number of other things take priority... I'll do what I can to bump it up.

Unfortunately with prioritizing features and fixes, this issue was not as trivial so it was not yet pushed up the backlog. We apologize for any inconvenience this is causing you.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to close the loop here - we finally pushed out a fix for this today! The category will still appear as a selectable option in Engage Widgets, but when chosen it wont actually get applied.

Hi Anna - do you think that might have been before the fix pushed out by Stephen, or was this definitely still happening after that?

I know your posting follows Stephen's, but as it was merged here, might it have preceded that originally, and only got a new, later, timestamp on the merge?

Hi,

I had this bug show up again yesterday. A customer checked all the category options and was able to select one that is only available to staff with a management seat.

Hi Glenn, we found that this bug does exist in our Legacy "Feedback Page" widgets. Are you using one of those somewhere by chance?
